We Love You, 3sus!

Damn I wish he was a rs sophomore. He keeps slowly growing his game.

Morris was insane, but Naz was big. We needed him to play well and he answered. BDJ kept us in it in the first half and did his normal great work on defense and rebounding. If Naz had just a little more handle he would be an all-conference level guard. Maybe next year he will.

Mckay was the key to turning this game IMO along with Naz key threes. There was a 3-4 min stretch where Mckay was super man, dunking, running the court, dunking again, blocking shots, layup, repeat. Dude just went off for about 3 key minutes. BDJ rebounded the ball well, again. Monte might have been the best player on the court. Dude is working himself into the NBA. Won't have to worry until after next year but still..

Morris, Naz, and BDJ (and if Thomas could just establish some consistency on his shot) is a pretty sick guard court...

I'm not sure we've ever had a better set.

I would like to see someone photoshop Naz into the American Sniper movie poster, of course changing the name to Canadian Sniper.

All yours:

It's either this one or Tinsley/Horton/Nurse. None of them had the length and athleticism of BDJ.
Tinsley vs Morris, they get you a lot of the same things in a different style
Horton vs BDJ, bulldog defender vs long defender, deep 3 point shooter vs overall versatile offensive finisher
Nurse vs Naz, Nurse was a little more point guard-ish but Naz even more of a killer shooting it

revisit in a few months

This year's backcourt is not even as good as last year's, let alone 1999-2000.

Haha. Always so pessimistic.:jimlad:

Kane, (freshman) Morris, (sophomore) Naz, and (freshman) Thomas

v.

(sophomore) Morris, BDJ, (junior) Naz, (sophomore) Thomas

I know you think Kane was the best player in school history or something, but I'd take the variety and depth of this year's group.

Morris is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better this year just as a pure facilitator, the ATR is still nutty, and he's show much more ability to get to the rim
BDJ is a better defender than Kane and just the rebounder... relies on shooting for offense a little more, but still a very effective player
Naz is the same shooter as last year--40% and incredibly clutch--but now he's a better defender and can slash much better
Thomas is about the same... still inconsistent

Yeah, I'd take this year's setup.

Keeping the current team and adding back Melvin (which would be basically what the front court from last year would give you) would be awesome.

They should have redshirted Ejim his freshman year.:jimlad:
