Agreed! yes the atmosphere is a bit different the a mbb game - but right now that's a really good thing :wink:

Can I just say that these are not the games I expected to be winning this year and I am duly impressed with our freshman. Dare I say I underestimated Bill Fennelly? Been following this team for 5 years, should know better than that.
Our freshmen played huge in this game. Prins had an awful game vs Texas, but really stepped up in this one. Schroll was in the doghouse after her T against Texas, and she came back with 11 rebounds and 0 turnovers in this game. Poppens had a bad day from the field but made 5-6 from the line and had 7 rebounds.
Attended the game and was duly impressed with our toughness; we did not back off from the Sooners who were pushing, holding, bumping--you name it; fortunately the refs were calling the fouls; I thought overall the refs did a good job. Comments earlier on the thread about our frosh + Chassidy were right on--they all played well. We needed Jessica's quickness, and she came through. Anna started well and then slumped in the middle of the game, but to her credit, she righted herself and came back big in the final ten minutes. Bolte had a good, all-around game, hitting some timely threes. Make no mistake, the Paris sisters are gone, but this Ok team is still very good with both speed and size; we just played a little better. Cheers for the players and the coaching staff.
So, what will our rank be next week? We are currently 22 and 18 in the Ap and coaches poll, I'm guessing 18 and 16 if we win on Saturday.

We finally got the Sooners! ISU fans tonight finally got a glimpse of what is to come with Miss Prins. OU cut the lead down and ISU went down to Anna in the post and she delivered. A great game from Kelsey, who I thought was on the bench way to long. Yes she was in foul trouble but who wasn't for ISU. Aus was third leading scorer so it's good to see others help her out. Great win but now it's time to go get some WILDCATS!

Fantastic win! And great atmosphere - some of the fans complaining about the 'death' of Hilton Magic need to expand their view past just men's basketball.

Good point about the need to get good scoring from others in addition to Aus. I think everyone who played scored; Chassidy only scored one point, but to her credit she had three assists in about ten or eleven minutes of play--that is a plus. Also, when Aus had to sit, the team did okay; at timeouts, Aus would get the five who were playing together and give them a pep talk, so she was in the game even when she was not, so to speak.
I was really happy to see that we not only won, we did it without Lacy being the #1 scorer. I have no problem with Lacy scoring a lot of points, but with quite a few games this year it has been live or die (thankfully it has been all live) by Lacy and we needed some others to step it up. I think this team will continue to get better as the season goes on.
