WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

It's been sort of a push if you discount Clark being a homerun to deep deep center. Sticking to in-state players with ranked profiles in the last five years:

2019 - ISU got Maggie Espenmiller-McGraw.
2020 - Iowa got Clark and ISU got Aubrey Joens.
2021 - Nobody for either cause nobody worth signing?
2022 - Iowa got Hannah Stuelke 2022.
2023 - ISU got Crooks 2023, Sooners got Sahara Williams.
2024 - Iowa has a commit from Callie Levin and ISU has Aili Tanke, both unranked.

2024 will be won or lost outside of the state. Hawks have an ESPN ranked 6'-4" post from California committed.

We claimed to have won the overall recruiting in 2020 but that didn't turn out to be true except on paper when judged right now.
2023 we also got Kelsey Joens. Prospects Nation has her at #65. Jackson is Top 150 in the same metrics.

Well it's not like she was going to say "Yeah they suck".

Generic interview speak.
Maybe. But she didn't just say the cliche "ISU is a tough opponent. We have a lot of respect for them." She went more into it, talking about high school girls bball, Drake, and UNI and how the competition has made all D-1 programs better.

At least that's how I remember it.

SC is just different. They don't really run and gun like iowa. I think iowa is soft and SC aggressive D will cause them problems. Of course if they throw in 16 3s like last night, anything can happen. I don't think SC would allow iowa to get many good, open looks.

The difference with Iowa and SC is SC has a line change that is equally as good as their first string. They have fouls to give and as said before, the refs can't call them all. They will wear Iowa down slowly and then keep hitting them down low. Monika cannot stop two bigs at once and Warnock is their next option of the starters.

If SC survives tonight and can get Iowa in foul trouble like Maryland tonight Iowa will be deep trouble.
They certainly seem to be determined to get rebounds. Maryland has no composure right now and SC is looking good.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team rebound like SC. They were just unstoppable. And as someone else posted…they just kept coming at Maryland. And Lordy…that height….wow. The Iowa matchup will be the impenetrable defense v the unstoppable offense.

SC can adapt to any style of game. Sweet Sixteen against UCLA was a lower scoring grind it out game and tonight when a higher scoring game is needed they again adapt.

It's quite amazing to watch.

That's the difference in mindset of a team whose goal is to get to the Final 4 and the one that Carolina has of winning the Final 4.

Pretty easy to do if you are coming into the Final Four as the returning champs and heavy favorite to win it again. The whole "act like you've been there before" is easier if you have indeed actually been there before!

I watched the last 2 hawk games to see what the hype was about. I found it entertaining enough. I’ll probably watch the next one but I find Clark extremely annoying. Constantly yelling at her teammates is off putting. Lebron does the same so could just be a common trait among the greats but I’ve never been a bron fan either.
