Well, not unexpected, but still a pretty sad update on Ava Jones, one of the Hawks 2023 recruits. Iowa is honoring her scholarship although she will never play again.
Same accident killed her dad and left her mother with serious brain injuries, both of them pictured with her in a commitment photo in the tweet update.

It gives you an idea of how serious her injuries were that it took until now to scan her knees. I figured a return was unlikely anyway, but this likely seals it. Here's hoping she (and her mom) can eventually recover to a relatively normal physical state.
I actually like Carver Hawkeye. Unlike Kinnick, I’ve never had a bad experience as a proud ISU alum at CHA. Convenient parking and easy to get in and out. EIU fans leave early so post-game traffic is not horrid.
Ayoka redshirted her freshman year due to a knee injury at the end of her high school career, I believe. I watched some of their first exhibition, they want to play quicker this year and look like ISU's offense with 3s and drives to the basket. They have 3 or 4 transfers with Gregory and another player from OU.
Got a free ticket to the sinkhole for the WBB game. I will be the only one in red in the sea of Howk. I told the person who offered.... I'm in ISU gear and I will cheer LOUDLY! Very confident in IC they will do us hence the ticket offer. I said we will give Clark her 40 and beat you by 10
While watching a spot on Inside Edition about college women and NIL I learned the very talented Cavinder twins transferred to Miami for their senior seasons. I learned of them during the pandemic when I discovered them on TikTok. Kind of sad they wasted most of college career at Fresno State where they never got any national attention.
Lauren Jensen, Minnesotan and transfer from the Hawkeyes, scored 30 points for Creighton as they beat ranked South Dakota State in Billings the other night. Nice debut for the Blue Jay newbie.
I'd like to watch them play Nebraska next week but the TV is FloSports so nope, not going to be able to catch that.

Actually Jensen played for Creighton last year and her shot actually knocked EIU in the 2nd round of the tourney

Oops! Thanks for pointing that out. Went to edit mine to correct it and opened yours by accident, hence the "edit" note on yours although I didn't change it.
why, if you ever played the game you know some nights shots sometime take awhile to start falling. It is how you finish and we finished strong last night.
Shots are one thing are ability to stop on the defensive side of the ball against an athletic but no where near Iowa athletic team worries me a bit.
You realize Iowa doesn't play defense, correct?
