Big 12 scoring leaders. Crooks up to #4 and Brown clocks in at #15. Six freshman in the Top 15. Who do you leave off the All-freshman team that only has five slots?

I think that means those teams have balance.Crazy that top 15 features only 4 from the top 4 teams in the league.
Right now I think the odd person out is going to be Brown. Her performances over the last half dozen games Have dropped off on the offensive side. That is what tends to show up for coaches voting.Big 12 scoring leaders. Crooks up to #4 and Brown clocks in at #15. Six freshman in the Top 15. Place looked PACKED. What cool a moment for them.So much fun watching Indiana beat the hoks by 17 in Bloomington in front of 17,000+. They held CC to 24 points on 8-26 shooting, 3-16 from deep. Iowa shot 18% from beyond the arc as a team. The LOSS knocks them to third place in the Big 10.![]()
On the day declared “CC day” by the state, too.So much fun watching Indiana beat the hoks by 17 in Bloomington in front of 17,000+. They held CC to 24 points on 8-26 shooting, 3-16 from deep. Iowa shot 18% from beyond the arc as a team. The LOSS knocks them to third place in the Big 10.![]()
This is the only one we have lost that I wish still wanted to be a clone.Donarski with 23 points as NC knocks off NC State.
I think the crazy thing about Clark's 24 points is that she had 20 in the first half and only 4 in the second. So much fun watching Indiana beat the hoks by 17 in Bloomington in front of 17,000+. Indiana really put the clamps on her in the 2nd half, did a really good job defensively, she was struggling to get clean looks. Hoosiers are a good team.I think the crazy thing about Clark's 24 points is that she had 20 in the first half and only 4 in the second.
Again…I’ve alluded to how you beat Iowa. First thing is limiting everyone but Clark and Iowa only had one scorer outside of her. Indiana then hit the trifecta by shutting Clark down. I felt so bad.Indiana really put the clamps on her in the 2nd half, did a really good job defensively, she was struggling to get clean looks. Hoosiers are a good team.
Counterpoint: Texas is the #5 team in the country.as for freshman of the year. While Booker has some nice stats and plays the flashy position, I look at Crooks in the meat grinder position. To me that is what really separates her from Booker. The top stat that folks look at is scoring and Crooks leads that category without the benefit of the three pointer.

I'm not saying who should win it. I'm saying who will win it. There's a reason Booker was one of only three freshmen in the country (and the only one in the Big 12) to be named to the Naismith mid-season list.
It all comes down to voting. Bill can't vote for Audi, and Vic can't vote for Booker. It comes down to the other 12 coaches in the league.Counterpoint: Texas is the #5 team in the country.

Sometimes you don't "lose" an award, you just get "beat" for it. Like in MLB with Ohtani being MVP one year and Judge the next. I am a Judge fan but Ohtani also had an MVP year in 2022 the year Judge won. Crooks and Booker have both been great in league play but Booker playing PG as a forward as an emergency sub and keeping them Top 10 is the tie breaker. Unless they figure a way to have Booker as POY and Crooks as FOY.
Booker has stepped into the shoes of the consensus pre-season pick for POY (Harmon) and played like she's the POY. Doesn't fit our typical fan scenario that ISU, our players and Bill aways somehow get screwed by some sort of coaches bias against ISU and other silly nonsense.
