I know it's not nearly as important as any conference game, and I am not fond of the timing, but I'm curious about the SEC challenge game at Ole Miss. They're currently 11-2, although what looks like a somewhat weak schedule, on the road (where they're undefeated so far), sandwiched between @ KU and home vs WVU. It would be a nice win, but worrisome situation.

OK, back to the 5 grueling conference games that come first!

I've been wondering about this as well since we have struggled in this thing under Prohm.

My guess is it will be similar to going on the road against teams like Baylor or TCU in the Big 12.

They are #40 on Barttovik.

75-76 projection for the game right now (they are favored by 0.1 points)

49% - 51% win projection (they are slightly ahead in these regards)

They have a good offense (#25 overall) yet suspect defense (#94). They actually track pretty close to Iowa and our game in Iowa City in all these projections and aspects.

This is going to be a hard game -- a great luxury to win, though.

I understand the sentiment that it's not am important game and agree that a loss means little, but a win, on the road, over a P5 conference contender (?), would at the very least be useful in seeding.

As Coach Prohm says all the time: "Win the day." I am not looking that far down the schedule and I sure hope our players aren't. The focus right now should be on beating Baylor tomorrow night and move on to K-State after that. It always felt that like once Fred's teams got ranked so high they lost focus and we read too much of our own press and lost a game we should have won. Just focus on what is in front of you right now and as Coach Campbell says "trust the process and the process will love you back." We live in a society of instant gratification but you can bet that those blue blood programs that win conference titles and contend for national championships aren't looking ahead at games nearly 3 weeks away.
