Watson

His defense gets him minutes; growing confidence on offense, as we saw glimpses of today, will increase those minutes

It sucks losing Grill, However the guys that got most of his minutes (T King, Watson, Ward) are all more talented, raising the ceiling for the whole team.

I kinda see Emmitt Matthews, Jalen Bridges, Tre Mitchell kinda player… which I would love.

I understand why it didn’t happen, but I’ve stated before that I’d love to see Watson and Ward each get just a little run in the 1st half. Their length creates turnovers, offensive rebounds, and sometimes easy buckets.
Agree. I just hope they get it without Kunc having 3 fouls in the first half. Or Osun. Kunc is limited offensively but I think he really does bother teams in the front of that 1-3-1 we play and savvy on taking charges in the man to man.

I don't know why Ward doesn't get more run? I love his length.

Watson I feel can be a little like Naz Long in that as a freshman was just providing solid minutes, but by his junior and senior years was an all conference caliber type player.
He’s considerably ahead of Naz as a Fr. Naz was more like Eli King, and never really played meaningful mins as a Fr.

But I would say we’ve probably never had a guy put in work in the off-season like Naz.

There is something to be said for knowing you are probably going to get more minutes no matter what.
Couple that with the "We are underdogs, nobody expects anything out of us this game, just have fun out there" mentality and you have the recipe for everyone playing loose and good things happening.

I like his length and stuff. Great with defense and the deflections and steals, but Watson is more polished and poised offensively. And Watson’s only a freshman!
