I love JP and just about everything he has done as an AD at ISU.

He has this alcohol policy dead wrong. I just don't like that the larger donor sections can drink alcohol inside but blue collar fans can't. Until that policy changes, the binge drinking and sneaking in alcohol will remain rampant.

For the record, I just wish he would say alcohol sales permitted everywhere or none permitted whatsoever inside. I'd be fine with either decision, it's the hypocrisy of the current policy that gets me.

That being said, bringing in a water bottle is okay policy wise, so sneaking in booze it is!

The Sukup End Zone area has a required minimum Cyclone Club donation of $500.

It's not hypocrisy. He says they are leveraging it for premium seating. You may not like that reason (I don't particularly) but it's not hypocritical.

I like a beer/booze as much as the average Cyclone fan but my perspective of alcohol consumption within the stadium changed when I started bringing my own kids to games and now my grandkids. The drunk obnoxious idiot fan of any team can make things go south pretty fast if you are sitting within their "world". Filthy language directed at players, officials, coaches and neighboring fans are far too common. If you can't watch the game without becoming a drunk A-hole, what's the point? Pro football is worse as the cost to attend pretty much eliminates family attendance and it is primarily a guy thing and lots of times a group of drunk guys. If you are all about drinking beer in the stadium, I hope they jack the price up so much that it can cut consumption and some of the additional added cost is directed to paying the players.

My 1996 self apologizes to your 2023 family.

I'm sure the drunken energy still wakes up the echoes cheering her name.
