I think you can see by my 359 post count that I am not a troll. I come on here to talk football and other sports because it is a good site to do that. Most of the time I comment on the topics related to Husker football that are 90% of the time started by a Cyclone fan.
I was under the impression that if the player led with the "crown" of his helmet, or if the official couldn't tell whether or not he was leading with the "crown", then it was to be ruled a penalty, that gives the official more leeway in that, if he can't tell, he should just throw the flag. The officiating in the Mizzou game was atrocious, on both sides of the ball, and I don't think that any fan watching would disagree with that..
All that being said, from the replays it certainly looks to be like contact is made with the facemask part of the helmet, and not the crown, which by the letter of the rule, is not a penalty.

2. Trolls aren't defined by their number of posts, but by the content of their posts. Several blatant Tavern Hok trolls have a post count that numbers well into the several thousands...
For those of you who think this is a dirty hit, please tell me how he could have come in untouched like that without you considering it a dirty hit? Coming in at a full sprint it isn't like he could have just paused to straighten up. He wrapped up because he was going for the tackle/strip, he didn't just try to go in and lay the QB out, he was making a play. I hate the Huskers as much as anybody, but that was clean.
How do you tackle by leading with your shoulder? I'm pretty sure your head would be in front of your shoulder unless you jumped at the ball carrier from a sideways angle and that just seems like poor tackling

I imagine it is as easy as a 200 lb safety tackling a 235 quarterback who ISN'T MOVING
Have another video of how you can sack a quarterback without putting your head on theirs.

If he drops his shoulder there he can't go for the strip, which is what every football player from Pop Warner on up is trained to do in that situation.

Every football player also knows the rule that you can't hit helmet to helmet. I haven't heard of anything that says you can forget the rules if it makes it more likely you will strip the ball. Common sense it all it really takes to get by in life, I'm continually shocked at how few people have it or are willing to set it aside when it comes to their favorite sports team.
I do not see helmet to helmet contact between the defender and the ball carrier.
It's not a rule that you can't hit helmet to helmet. It is a rule that you can't hit a player with the crown of your helmet...hitting a player face mask to face mask say, is not against the rules, and while it may indeed be dangerous, does not at this point and time, warrant a flag.
That's only because the KU guy didn't drop his head like the Muzzu QB did, our guy is leading with his head way worse on this play than the Nebraska player was on Saturday.
There is a huge difference between any kind of helmet to helmet hit and spearing. Hell, if you watch that play you see the KU guy hit his own blocker helmet to helmet. Do you think that should be a penalty too?

No player shall target and initiate contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent with the helmet, forearm, elbow or shoulder. When in question, it is a foul. (See Points of Emphasis for a description of “Defenseless Player.â€)
You can decide for yourself if a QB standing still in front of a 200 lb safety running full speed is defenseless.
