Has anyone ever been “accidentally” trampled to death playing American football? That knee-jerk, speculative defense to the apparent racist motives is so implausible no one even bothered trying to make it when I learned the Jack Trice story in the early 2000s. Can’t believe it’s around today.

I think it is stated this way because it is what MN has always claimed.

I think of note most mentions of that excuse have basically made it known that is not really believed.

But when MN has claimed that for 100 years, you have to at least state that they claim it was accidental. I am pretty sure most people know it was not accidental.

But yes football in those days, was a lot more dangerous, and people regularly were severely injured or worse, and many times it was on purpose, though people would claim it wasnt.

It is vary likely Jack was targeted, but in those days purposely targeting or injuring people was more common.
