WARNING: football uniform thread!

I don't understand everyone's desire to change our uniforms...again. We change our uniforms more than any football team in the nation, and I don't like it. Iowa State football would be identified better across the nation if we had a look that people could identify us with. That doesn't happen if we change our uni's every couple of years.

And I think our current uni's are great the way the are. I wouldn't want to change anything. I think we should keep them for a long time.
 
Our away jerseys are pretty solid. I would like to see us little more sleek looking at home. The problem is then you have to change away to the same design. I think we should look into a pro combat. I would also like some sort of alternate. Somethin to spice it up a little

BSU unis are terrible. I can't hardly think of any newly designed uniforms I like. They need to be simple and classis, like Texas, USC, ISU, Penn State, Alabama.

Mizzo, Illinois, Boise State, Oregon, Okie State, Texas Tech...all their uniforms suck big time.
 
I agree, we have much better things to spend money on.

Also, we have a long way to go as a program before anyone in the nation is concerned about us looking similar to USC.. lets hope we get there though.
 
I think many of us have been hoping that we could somehow distinguish our football uniforms a little more from USC's, correct?

I've always thought we should go with yellow helmets, but I doubt we will ever see that happen?

So... I've decided... based on our basketball away uniforms... that our football uniforms need just a little bit of white in them somewhere. I think our basketball away uniforms are sweet! The little thin white lines in them really make things stand out even more and look even sharper IMO.

I will try to doctor up some photos using my horrible photoshop skills and post them here when I get the chance.

No. White. No Navy Blue. Our school colors are CARDINAL and GOLD people!!!! Lets leave the logo/uniforms alone for once so we get some recognition.

The problem I have with adding any white, with the red and gold is the clown jokes would never stop... especially if Chizik got his way and bestowed upon us the magical white helmet. F that.

I agree with that. I like our unis. My only problem is that they look just like USC's. I want to stick with an identity, but I want it to be our own. The road unis are great to me mostly because they wear the red pants while USC uses gold pants.

For the home unis, I would just put white between the stripes on the shoulders and the pants. And then put a stripe on the helmet (tri-stripe with two yellow stripes and one white inbetween). Can anyone mock up one of those?
 
I swear if I hear from anymore blue color fans, I'm going to round you all up, put you on trains and send you to extermination camps. :parghh: I always frickin' hated the blue in our uniforms. I love that we went back to a classier look. I don't like looking just like USC, however. I'd vote for a yellow helmet with an inverted logo.
 
Our unis right now are sweet. (Jerseys and pants) I don't mind the helmet....(would have preferred yellow (gold).

If I were to add anything it would be very minor:
1. Add a gold stripe or two stipes down the center of the helmet
2. Pride Stickers all over the helmet. (Old 80s tornado logo) -minus the "Iowa State" on the top. That would be cool. Kinda like Florida State with their spears.
 
I assumed that the people asking for blue were being sarcastic. If they are serious they need to be banned, flogged, or killed.

I was just about to comment on the stocking hat.....I have one....and love it! My old Sledding hat when I was a kid. Now, drinker hat at the tailgates. Oh man!


I also have one that says "Iowa Cyclones" because when I was real young I found this booth at the Iowa State Fair and this old lady was making stocking hats like the one above. I asked for one to say Iowa State Cyclones...she told me to come back in an hour to pick it up.....I came back and found that she screwed up and wrote "Iowa Cyclones" on it. I was just upset at the time.....so she let me have it for free.

I kept wearing it though....While in college people just loved that hat...like it was a great idea or something......I wore it to Iowa City too all the time...like wearing it at the bars, etc.......and it really ****** Sqawks off for some reason.....

So yeah, I have some boss Iowa State stocking hats. I suggest people get some that look like the picture above. (I won't wear a stocking hat unless it has a ball on the top of it.)
