Walt Anderson Resigns Position of Big XII Coordinator of Officials

Not pass interference.

No, THAT ball was uncatchable (because of the blatant interference)

Agreed. Miss the call, it sucks but it happens - but to throw the flag and have the referee overturn him and coerce him into picking up the flag (again) after throwing the flag (again) is inexcusable.

'Nuff said...

That's what made that call 10x worse.... it was the 2nd flag against KSU on that drive that was picked up. Maybe even the third one... or was that one earlier in the game?

And don't get me started on the Okie State finish. On ISU's final drive, they don't throw a flag on obvious PI against Eaton in the endzone, followed by another no PI called against Lazard getting mugged in the endzone, and then of course the Murdock "catch". Ugghh.

Anybody think that Reggie Smith will get a promotion?

The head referee who was responsible for all the picked up flags in the K-State game.

If it gets him off the field, I'm all for it.

If Bowlsby did what was right, he’d let the ADs at Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Kansas, West Virginia, and TCU determine the next head of officials. Not Baylor because they can’t control their own damn institution and not Texas or Oklahoma cuz they get their balls coddled with enough already

Any head of officials that lets this kind of BS go from one of his lead officials without saying a thing is in the wrong job.
We've all assumed that Smith did this on his own volition.

At the end of the game there was a late hit on a sliding QB and a wr basically tackled from behind with the ball in the air. As far as I could see neither call was reviewed and Smith stepped in both times and coerced the other official to pick up the flags. Probably just a coincidence, but the guys is still living rent free in my mind.

I’m sure Greg “Bob Newhart” Burks has a history of screwing us over in some capacity, but I at least welcome a different viewpoint after 12 years of disaster under Walt Anderson.

So, surely Greg Burks will be on the revised podcast about ISU villians.

I’m sure Greg “Bob Newhart” Burks has a history of screwing us over in some capacity, but I at least welcome a different viewpoint after 12 years of disaster under Walt Anderson.

Burks was on the crew for some notable games -- KSU 1996 (Davis' Heisman pose), Iowa 2000, Nebraska 2002, KSU 2004 (the big comeback). He was referee for the 3OT opener against Toledo in 2006, and the 2010 Nebraska OT game.

But, probably most notably, he was the referee for the 2014 KSU game in Ames. That one had the "process of the catch" interception called against Jarvis West, and the non-reviewed pylon "catch" by Lockett that led to a KSU TD.

I'm just as upset about KSU game as everyone else is, but I do recall that earlier in the game we missed the opportunity to score a couple of touchdowns that would have put this thing away, and taking away the problem of these calls at the end of the game. When we get in the red zone, score a TD and we can take the officials out of the game, instead of them taking us out. Teach these guys that we are legit winners. They'll have to back off and we'll no longer receive apology letters.
