Walking on at Iowa State

I was wondering how hard it was to walk on at iowa state or any othe d1 programs. I was talking to a guy who graduated from my high school last year and he said he is going to try to walk on at isu. I kind of laughed at him but then i thought maybe he would have a chance. Has anyone on hear ever walked on at a program or know how hard it is?

If you have decent skills and GOOD speed-4.4--4.5 the look at you hard.

I was invited to walk on after two years of JUCO. I WAS 6' 190 lbs. Ran a high 4.4. They didn't really give me much of an opprtunity. My two suggestions. If you are going to walk-on, do it right out of high school so you can work your way into the system for a number of years. If they are not begging you to come be on the team, they have no plans on you getting playing time, go down a level and get some playing time. It is worth it.

You really have to be dedicated to walk on, I could never do it. My roommate is a walk on, and he is hating spring practice at the moment, he loved fall practice during the season.
