Walking Dead

How INhuman do you have to be to just stand there and watch it happen? This is one of those times where I think I wouldn't survive very long in the TWD world...it's tough picturing myself aligning with someone like Negan for protection.

Total fear. Rick is badass and he broke him to his will in one night, I'm guessing most of his gang was either in a group like Ricks at somepoint or have seen Negan do this enough that they're terrified of defying him.

How ********* was the entire cast on talking dead? Norman and Michael both broke out the booze, but it was obvious those two, JDM, Rick, etc were plenty boozed up. I thought it was awesome.

Some of them didn't even seem to notice that it was raining.

Yes, after avoiding watching the episode, I watched the post-episode commentary.

Chris Hartwig still talks like it's he did on Singled Out.

Last night was the first and only episode ever that I actually liked Carl. That dude was literally willing to take one for the team. Negan should tell Rick to cut Carl's hair off next.
I've been rooting for Carl to die for years.

I was too the first 4-5 seasons. He's starting to grow on me now that he's maturing.

I'm just really happy Andrea and Lori died a long time ago. I have my eye candy with Rosita, so I wouldn't mind seeing Maggie go next.

just me or did Maggie make a miraculous recovery while kneeling all night? Wasn't she almost unconscious at the end of last season?

Good point. I'm also surprised no one passed out from sheer exhaustion and witnessing the brutality.

Daryl had the truly human moment and didn't just stand there....and it got Glenn killed. If the group would have taken a stand then and there, they all would have died. Sometimes you have to lose a battle and plot your revenge in the long game.

I was actually referring to the "Saviors" who were all standing in a ring around them, just quietly watching it all. I understand why the group on their knees weren't fighting back...although I'm guessing there would be a lot of survivor guilt going on.

Daryl is going to blame himself for Glenn's death. That's going to be rough.

You gotta wonder what would have happened if Rick would have confidently landed that hatchet in Negans skull in front of everybody. Would that group dissipate or would another step up quick and challenge as leader.

For me the intense character development is at odds with the story and the gore. These are comic book characters after all - no need for the intense "breaking bad" type stuff - the after show just proves to me they take it too seriously at times. Just be a survival action story with interestingly weird characters that come and go.

A couple of seasons ago when we saw poor Noah get torn to shreds in slow motion I thought it was one of the most disturbing things I had ever seen on TV, but watching Glen's eyeball poking out of his eye socket after the first blow beats that.

Was it gratuitous? Probably. But it did create the desired reaction for the viewers? Definitely. At least, I'll keep watching.

I'm pretty sure this scene was pulled straight from the comics.

It was pulled from the comics. That is what makes some of these critics complaining about the gore level amusing. The show runners are paying tribute to the source material and people are complaining about it.
