Walking Dead

I do think it is kind of interesting to see if there is any residual memory. It seems like some of the zombies we've seen have had some kind of link to their former lives. The one that sticks out the most to me was when they went to the church and there were zombies in their Sunday best, sitting in the pews. That has nothing to do with hunting instinct, so there must be some ghost of personality left.
Maybe they passed away in their Sunday best/vest.

'The Walking Dead' returns to jaw-dropping record ratings | Inside TV | EW.com

Ratings in from last night. Walking dead killing it.

Sunday night’s midseason return of the AMC zombie drama delivered 12.3 million viewers and a 6.1 adults 18-49 rating — its biggest yet in both measurements. And that was against The Grammys.
To give you an idea of how stunning this performance is, ABC’s Once Upon a Time sank to a series low 2.2 in the adult demo last night and Fox’s Family Guy went down to a 2.4 — and those are the broadcast shows that performed the best against the music awards show.
Put another way: Last Thursday’s American Idol had 13.3 million viewers and a 4.1 rating and Wednesday’s edition had 14.3 million and a 4.6 rating. So in the all-important adult demo — if not total viewers — The Walking Dead beat last week’s American Idol telecasts. In fact, The Walking Dead‘s average for its current third season in the demo is higher than top broadcast shows like Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory and NCIS. And among cable, there’s no comparison — last night’s episode was the biggest adult demo number ever for a basic cable series.

The safe assumption is the person watching from the woods was the prisoner Rick chased out who lated led the zombies into the prison and worked his way back to the boiler room.

I'm probably wrong, but earlier this season before they met the other prisoners I thought I remembered them giving the impression that someone was outside watching as well. Some of these details are hard to remember when they split the season like this, so I don't remember the timeline of everything exactly.

Did anybody else notice the rating scale got bumped up to TV MA for this past episode? I can't recall anything that made this episode any more gruesome than previous, so maybe it's a sign of things to come.

There's that and also Morgan's wife coming up to their house after she became a walker. I definitely think there's something there. Just because Milton's first attempt didn't support it doesn't mean it isn't true.
I think that he meant that is where they died.
Even if they had died there, I think they would have gotten up to eat meaning they went back to the church.

Exactly. I think Milton was on to something. It's not enough of an echo to suppress the feeding urge like he thought, but when there's no known prey nearby, the other instincts come out.

If there was no food nearby they would have just waited for something to bumble by - which the group did when they broke in to the church.

If they were infected in the church while the door was shut they would have been stuck inside.

Again, this is why I think it would be cool for this "scientist-guy" to develop into a cool character. Perhaps a key to finding out why the dead rise and so on..... (The show has featured "walkers" that have some sort of "memory.")

It could develop stories about a cure, or something worse.....who knows... but a mad scientist/shrink character could be cool.

Unfortunately with the people of Woodbury getting freaked out, I'm not sure we'll get the opportunity to see that happen. Andrea reassured them so maybe they'll calm down and stay.

I think theyve mostly abandoned the 'they remember anything'... one of those things where it was part of the pilot but everything since has gone the other way.
