Anbody else watching this match? Why can we not play well there? Where is our block? Why did we save all our errors for a single match? Just questions I have when I watch this.

The announcers suck. This is not for 3rd in the conference. KSU has yet to play UT and KU again. We need not to lose any ground on our RPI, though.

only seeing the stats. Seems like Capezio is having little luck and no noise from our middles. Knew things would not go well when we blew the end of the set lead first set.

The problem is Capezio and Morgan are hitting into the block, again. But, Harris is setting to it. Is Brand able to change the way we go to the middle? Maybe.

There is not block when Harris is there, or Capezio. The second set was tight, like 19-18, and coach made wholesale lineup changes? Essentially, giving them the set. Not sure I get the logic? Her starters have bad effort, maybe she was trying to get their attention, but now we're down 2-0. I don't get it. We need to win this match IMO. I just worry that I'm seeing a slow dissapation of will.

Our block is nonexistent. They've been there with 2 or 3 players. It's over 10 blocks now, and we're just giving the 3rd set away. It was 11-11, we gave them 8 straight. Stupid.

Getting smoked here now in the 3rd.

We are a decent NCAA team but not really what we expect after the expectations set a few years back. I thought after missing that Final Four by a few points a few years back that volleyball would be able to do what WBB was unable to do when they had a chance to be more 10-15 years ago. Now I am not so sure.

Not the way I wanted mojo to be left for the football game (the football players won't even know this happened, by and large). Say what you will, it just seems like that place is like garlic to a vampire for Paul Rhoads and CJL. I hate it. It's worse than Lawrence at this point. ****** fans, too. I hope they get destroyed by UT and KU, mainly because of the homer "ESPN" commentators they threw out there tonight.

wheels coming off in the third here, 10 attack errors just this set.
We had wheels!? Trying to stay positive but the stats on this game had K-State's dominating every category. Packing in my expectations and hope the season ends mercifully.

well I meant specific to the third, since had been staying tied and then let them rattle off a bunch.

Agree - the grit and effort is not what it once was under CJL. This program, for whatever reason, is a shell of what it used to be. How come?

Seems to be a trend of ISU athletics...
Eustachy couldn't do it (although we now know what may have been a factor there).
Fennelly, as you mentioned, couldn't do it.
Rhoads couldn't capitalize on beating OkSU (6-4 at that point and lost out;-been downhill from there).
CJL's teams seem to be stagnating/regressing.

Let's not get crazy here. Take a step back and see where Fennelly and CJL are "stagnating" at. Constant NCAA berths. Count me as satisfied--we know how bad the programs were before they got here, right?!?

Why can't we just enjoy the heck out of what these coaches and teams do?

If CPR's regression were even close to what these programs have done, man, we'd be in bowl games every year.

Also, Eustachy? If he wouldn't have been a party animal, he would have been coaching Stinson and Blalock--we would have been fine.

Please, just enjoy where these coaches have us. Especially WBB and Volleyball. We were so bad, really really bad and now we're worried about our bad years being top 30-40?

I get both sides of this argument. We were truly terrible at volleyball before CJL arrived. Truly. If you don't remember, look it up - multiple seasons of 1, maybe 2 conference wins a year. But making the Elite 8 twice raises expectations in ways that cannot be imagined before it happens. Fans want to see a high level of play and competitiveness maintained long-term. For whatever reason, it doesn't always work that way. I personally find it disappointing when it seems like one of our successful programs loses it's "fight" and seems to phone it in at times. I know we can do better and we deserve better. But what we have is STILL better than what we had before CJL and BF (wbb). Better by light years. In all honestly though, they laid an egg in Manhattan. That was a really bad match. Our RPI had already dropped from #14 last week to #21 this week. It won't improve next week, either, after last night.

Let's not also forget how young this team is. There is only one senior in the starting rotation, and only 3 seniors on the entire roster, and one of them is out. And our top reserves in are Frosh and Soph.

My biggest concern with the volleyball team is injuries and conditioning. CJL needs to have her own S&C coach.

Also, we over set our outsides. Of a 126 sets, 13 were set to the middle. Not hard for opponents to know where to block.

Hudson, good or bad, set this program back.

Losing to both to Texas and Kansas at home bothers me more than losing a road game to KSU.

She kind of does doesn't she? I know Andy Moser is the guy in charge of all non-football sports S&C but he has assistants that are each assigned a specific sport.

You can do both. Wouldn't have watched last night if I did not hope to be able to enjoy the match and the season.

I don't think CJL is too happy about last night. Here's their Facebook post. No reason we should be making excuses for it, she isn't. She's still playing for this year, not next year or the average. If the weather and roads don't suck I might run down for the Tuesday match.

Not the kind of performance we want, especially this close to the postseason. We want to, and have to do, better and we will get a chance to get back on track Saturday at Texas Tech.

Go Cyclones!

Totally agree. I get it too, and am trying not to be disappointed. Maybe that was more of a pep talk to myself!
