If you ever thought this game was in question you know zero.
If you cant understand this game meant everything to the vikings you also know nothing.
If you cant understand that cousins has trouble in big games you also know nothing.
The vikings gave the first the first fully guaranteed contract EVER. Your GM and Owner know nothing. Tell me different. The vaunted vikings defense was nowhere today.
This game meant zero to the bears zero. Vikings got lucky with Thielin besides him not much talent that I saw on the field.

I am not a fan of Cousins and not a fan of the contract he got. But you said Keenum was a baller and would've been better. His performance this year would say otherwise
If this game truly meant zero to the Bears, no one worth a damn would've played once the Rams game was decided, which was early. Instead, your QB who missed a few games this season with injury played the entire game. For the sake of watching competitive football next weekend and being a decent human being, I'm glad no one got hurt. But it could've really come back to bite the Bears had someone gone down while they were playing their starters in a game that meant "zero"

I may have aimed too high with saying you argue like a 10 year old. This is like dealing with a typical Hawk douche. Sad thing is, not the only Bears fan I've seen acting like this

I guess you are correct. great game by the vikings today only lost by 2 scores today pretty good. I talked to many Viking fans today most understood how bad today was and embarrassed . I tried to give you some facts about how bad it was for the Vikes. They literally played like a preseason game. They had 1 drive all game aided by a couple penalties. The biggest Problem is that contract will be an absolute crusher for the duration it. He was the missing piece needed with the quality D that is at Minnesota. So we were all told. This is a thread about how bad vikings are isnt it.

Should the Bears have pulled key players once it became obvious the Rams game was not in question? Probably.

Should the Vikings have shown some sign of life while playing in the final game of the year for their playoff lives? Absolutely.

Something hasn't been right up there all year. There's more going on than just missing a player here or there.

My guess is the players are reacting to Cousins the same way the fan base is "This is what we get for $84m? This guy is the one of the highest paid QBs in the league?" Imagine being at your job, they hire a new manager for tons of money because he's supposed to bring in a whole bunch of business. After 6 months, things have gotten worse and the new manager can't stop spilling coffee all over himself.

Imagine being at your job, they hire a new manager for tons of money because he's supposed to bring in a whole bunch of business. But also imagine that the manager loses almost half of his support staff that is replaced with lower quality employees, and the manager's superior that is in charge of putting the manager's team in good positions and utilizing their strengths is fired for sub-par performance.

Some certainly deserves to fall on Cousins. But not all.

Goes to show that when you dump all that money in one position, it better be a guy who can win you games by himself. Rodgers is the only guy on that list who meets that criteria, and he wasn't at full strength from game 1.

Wow, 3 of the top 5 from the NFC Central...woof. Minnesota has a long rebuild ahead, but GBay may have the longer road. Given the age of some of the players at key positions, GBay will need to work all avenues just to stay around 8-8. Bears picked a good time to step up...

The OL is obviously issue number 1 on O. The pieces are there in every other spot. The only issue I can see that was big change was Cousins’ inability to create relationships with teammates and his unwillingness to create and move once the pocket breaks down. Keenum for all his flaws was very likeable and would try to make something out of nothing. IMO the O responded to that and are obviously not behind Cousins due to his severe rigidity in how he approaches everything.

One of the biggest concerns I have with Cousins is how he keeps saying "I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing" in his press conferences. That may be coach speak, but damn, that does not inspire confidence.

I agree there are a lot of pieces are there. And maybe they get some drastic upgrades on the OL and everything turns around next year. Going to have to see some evidence of that though.

Don't compare Bear fans to Hawk fans,just because we beat you at home in a game that you needed to make the playoffs.I didn't get to see the game because we were driving back from S Antonio,but it sounds like our Defense dominated your offense. That's not the reason I compared him to a Hawk fan. I compared him to a Hawk fan cause he's said stupid things

QBs on roster from 2017 all had their flaws and weren't going to be cheap (other than Teddy, but the team obviously had some concerns as did other teams evident by his signing). The free agent market wasn't amazing, but when the team's front office believes they are one player from being a championship contender I'm not mad about them pulling the trigger. It isn't like they gave up a bunch of draft picks to acquire him that sacrifices the future also.

I didn't question the decision at the time, nor do I question it now. It serves no purpose. It's done and we can't go back. The front office thought they were one QB away from a SB and Cousins was the top guy available. Dumping all that money into the QB position cripples your ability to address other issues, though. However, the type of money the Vikings spent is the kind of money you spend on a player who can win you games in spite of other weaknesses. Doesn't appear that Cousins is that (hindsight being 20/20).

Agree 100%. And they move up four spots in the draft which may enable them to get Cody Ford.
Little will probably also go in the first round but maybe the Vikes luck out and Risner drops to them in the second.

The kicker is the least of their problems, but for what it's worth, 2018 Season Stats:

Dan Bailey - 21/28 (75%) on FGs, 30/31 PATs, Long of 52 yds

Daniel Carlson - 17/21 (81%) on FGs, 24/24 PATs, Long of 50 yds

Seems like cutting him and spending the money on Bailey was a bit of a waste of money for the value. Again, hindsight being 20/20.
