seems like an overpay for a guy who is going to want out of buffalo in about 6 minutes.
If he thinks Cousins is a terrible QB just wait until he looks at the Bills roster.
If the Bills build up their o-line then they could have a decent offense, and their defense is solid. It will all come down to Josh Allen and how good/bad he really is. Now that they have a big time WR1 we will see.

Feel good to be right once in awhile. Diggs' deal is cheap for a player of his caliber. Bills agree
I think this is a pretty good description of the first round pick they got.
Hope the Vikes go that route as well.
Don't know how the cap would look, but do the Vikings possibly go after Robbie Anderson?

They're sitting at around $11 million in cap space right now. Sounds like Anthony Harris is still being dangled as trade bait, so if they unloaded him, they'd be up to around $22 million. I wouldn't be surprised if they brought Everson Griffin back on a smaller deal, especially with Weatherly leaving. Maybe there's room for a less high profile receiver. Not sure
My post didn't age well. That said, for a team that claims it is in win now mode, this trade makes little sense. Unless Diggs is causing AB level chaos in the locker room, this trade just made Cousins a worse QB. If they draft a WR with the 1st round pick, then it becomes a salary argument, but Diggs' contract was very favorable.
I could be wrong, but I didn't think a tagged player could be traded. So they would need to sign him to a new contract first.

Sure they can. It would be predicated on him signing the tender so there's an additional layer of complexity, but they can absolutely trade him.
No doubt it will tough to replace Diggs talent, but the Vikes won't miss his head case antics. Trader Rick did OK with the four picks that he got in return. Will be interested if the Vikings draft a WR in the second or third round or go the FA route.
But what are you supposed to do with somebody who just doesn’t want to be there? And drawing the line at AB- type behavior is setting a pretty high bar for tolerating bad teammates.
I'd be against trading Harris. Dude is the #1 safety. Him and Harrison Smith allow Minnesota to develop some cheap corners.
OK fine, AB is a pretty high crazy level. But unless his teammates are doing an exceptional job keeping quiet, as far as receiver divas go, Diggs is pretty mild. And his complaints have merit; his QB doesn't throw the ball down the field.
I'll admit my irritation with this is biased with my lack of enthusiasm for Cousins, but damn...Diggs is a top notch deep threat which every team desires. New 1st round receiver or not, next season is going to be more of the same defenses against Minnesota.
Buffalo averaged 19 less passing yards per game than Minnesota. And that's with a suspect OL and without the stud WR's the Vikings had. Josh Allen grew a ton from year one to year two. I'd expect another lead this off-season.
Yeah and Thielen didn’t exactly jump at the chance to defend Cousins either. Of course neither Thielen or Diggs were dropping back with that O line in front of them either.
Here's the skew with that -- neither the Vikings nor the Bills rely on the passing game frequently, they're both slanted heavily to running -- not sure that volume will keep Diggs happy, either.
Cousins also was pretty deadly with the deep play-action ball Diggs liked to catch for 40+ yards so much. I don't recall seeing a lot of that from Allen, but maybe I'm wrong. I don't think its a stretch to say Cousins is a better pure-passer than Allen. Pretty sure the Bills were rated higher in pass coverage than the Vikings were.
It's kind of a wash in certain respects. I guess if Diggs wanted to be the #1 guy, well, now he is. But that won't necessarily help his numbers or volume any specifically with Buffalo.
