vegas flight advice

Last time I was in Vegas all you had to do was play to drink for free. Even had microbrews. Doubt if that has changed. If drinking is all you want to do, push some granny off a nickle slot machine and drink away!

Well I get that, but I like gambling. And when I lose, like normal, those beers are about $12 a piece. If that makes any sense.

That is very true, though if you are getting low on case you can go to the bars and play a slot and drink too. Last time I was there I put 20 in the machine and watched and 2 and half hour ball game drinking the whole time. Of course my other loses more then made up for that gain lol.

Won't they give you free drinks if you are betting in a sports book?

I'm typing this from the pooper at the monte Carlo. Allegiance is nice if you want to leave Thursday/Sunday and it's a direct flight. We took frontier to Denver then to Vegas. Not direct but we left on a wednesday and will return Monday. I would use kayak and look for all the offers first and compare to what allegiant offers (bag fee for all bags I believe). Frontier had 20 bucks for checked luggage only. Time to hit the pool....

Make sure you alert someone at Allegiant ahead of time if you plan on slammin' some brews on the flight. Last time I went to Vegas I drank the stupid plane out of Budweiser!!
haha we did that too on a flight to LA. My buddy was afraid to fly and the flight left at 730pm so we were at the bar for about 2 hours before and then got on the flight and had I think 6 beers a piece or so. We were pretty faced but then they started playing that gambling game (anyone know what im talking about?) by the time I got off I had spent about $100 total just from stuff on the plane lol. They were fun about it.

I don't think they can play the gambling game anymore...one of the flight attendants told us they got in trouble for doing it. They haven't done it for a couple of years now on the flights I've been on.

I was wondering about that. They didn't do it the last flight I was on in December. But I thought that was maybe because we left DSM 3 hours late; they loaded everyone on then realized the front shock needed some work then then took us off 20 minutes later.

Got to Bally's at 1am PST.

The last couple of times on Allegiant we've been delayed. We were there 4 weeks ago and we didn't leave DM until 9:45...we rolled into NYNY at midnight PST.

I wish they would bump up that 8:00pm departure time...although it is nice that you don't have to take the day off of work that day.

What's this gambling game you speak of?

The flight attendants carry around a bag...everyone that wants to play puts a $1 bill with their seat number on it. They draw one, winner take all. Then they do it with a $5 bill. Then $10. And then $20. I've heard rumors that they've went all the way up to $100 bills but never saw it first hand.

Guy next to me won the $1 drawing once and won over $120 in ones.

Ha! Thanks for taking the time to add to the conversation while pinching one off! Going to be staying at the Monte Carlo myself next month.

I've only been to Vegas once and that was for the ISU vs UNLV game. Looking forward to exploring the town more this time around when I am out there next month. Get into Vegas by 10am on a Weds and back in DSM Sunday evening. My wife has to work during the weekdays at the company's site in town so I'm hoping to fill the day hours up with some stuff she may not be interested in. I definitely plan to visit the Pawn Store from Pawn Stars TV show. Heard that to avoid the big crowd and line best to go in the morning before 11am and most likely you'll never see the guys from the show working as anymore they only come out when there is something cool to buy that they want to film for the show.

Other than the typical things to see such as the Casinos and Stratosphere what else do people recommend checking out? I want to try some buffets and resturaunts if people have some recommendations on those, also plan to see a show. Right now looking like it may be Jeff Dunham. Last time we saw David Copperfield which was pretty good.

I'm going out there at the end of June. We usually just hang out on the strip but this time I'm renting a corvette and checking out red rock, stop at in-n-out burger, and shooting some machine guns at the gun store. Should be fun.
