For the last few years Iowa State has always had a stable of wide outs that quite frankly do not get used enough. We have had success throwing the football and when we roll Lanning outside the pocket. I do not see why we do not use the passing game to get the safeties deeper and the linebackers to get five yards off the line verses the three they are at now and the safeties more than 8 yards off the line. The short passing game, the quick passing game and the vertical passing game. Use them to get into 2nd down and wide open. As the passing game works the running game will come along.

Only if we can learn how to line up without being penalized. Dumb ass penalties and poor tackling sure didn't help tonight.

Makes sense but you have to make the short throws that we always seem to nail into the ground. A higher complation percentage is needed to be successful with that strategy.
