I talked to one of the wrestlers and Mikey is up at 195 and is wrestling freestyle at 173. He told me Mikey might go down to 165 for the season.

Life wont be looking up for ISU wrestling until next year this time when the new staff is announced.

No denying losing McCauley hurts. 133 and 149 look like big holes possibly. 157 could be interesting depending how Trent's neck has recovered and if Moreno intends to be 157 or 165.
Max Mayfield was looking really good the season before last. I can only hope he's recovered from his injury and is ready to go. I think he can score lots of points for us if healthy. I'm moving on from the DM talk. He was never here, the kid seems flakey to me. Good luck in life without a degree. We are who we are, coach knows it.
McCauley could very well do nothing of merit in the sport. He was not close to making the team this year, and will be lucky to after 4 more years, assuming he can stay with it.He will have no degree, and no chance to coach at a NCAA insitution. Not a smart decision.
Unless I have missed something, DM has done nothing that will lead to him being banned from earning a college degree.
(BTW...he will be attending college while at the training center.)
I think your outlook on this roster is fabulous. You should continue to apply this same outlook on the rest of your life. I am sure you will be a success.
Pike's Peak Community College is where most OTC athletes attend. Not exactly a diploma that opens a lot of doors. In interviews before the trials Cejudo , whose footsteps McCauley is following, mentioned multiple times that he is still at least two years of full time school away from a bachelors.
In other words, he'll technically be going to college. But it will be part time either through online classes or at the local community college.

Per Logan Molina's Twitter, just changed his twitter name to @iMolina157. I wonder if we will push Trent for 157 of if Trent shows up at 149 again?

I'd assume this greatly increase the chances we see Trent at 149. Are he and Gadsen going to be ready to go at the start of the season?
I know Gadson has been doing lots of conditioning and working on getting his weight down. I don't think he has done any live wrestling but I could be mistaken.
Quick glance in the ISU student directory and Max doesn't show up at all, hope he's still at ISU....unless he's under another name....
