Updated Chris Colvin Information

Would have been nice, but this is not terribly disappointing. If he puts in some hard work and keeps his head together, Colvin might be a very good player at some school. But I'm sure Fred will find his own stars

I have to say I don't get the people on this board.

The guy decides to transfer.....and most on here didn't have much of nice things to say when the news came out.

Then the program seems in shambles and this is a guy that we must get, we have to get him back, he must rejoin the team.

News is given that he will not be returning.....and now it's no big deal. Two days ago I would have guess it was a big deal.

In my book either a guy is wanted or not, not both....

I really liked Chris's potential based on talent, but he did walk out on his teammates and coach during the season.

That is a big red flag. If everyone isn't willing to buy in it will affect the teams chemistry. This may be best for the long run.

Ham obviously wasn't happy either, but he never quit on his team during the season. He played through pain and never quit. There's a big difference between the two.

This sucks, but he or Fred or both had to do what was best for them. I wouldn't fault a kid for leaving after a coaching change and I would never expect to come back after a coaching change.

I would have liked to see him come back.
If it wasn't meant to be then it wasn't meant to be.
Onward and upward.

Go Clones.

Colvin probably can't convince his posse that he should stay. Created his own monster? Is he still going to classes?

Ya hes still going to classes, he was at my bus stop the other day. Owell good luck Chris to wherever you decide to go.

Were the same posters saying both things? CF has many subscribers who have differing opinions. It's not really that suprising that one side or the other of an issue will pipe up at different times as the issue unfolds...

Fred doesnt need any thing else to worry about, like team chemistry, his plate is already full.

I think in an up-tempo offense, Phillips will be a fine back up point guard when DG needs a breather.

You forgot something- there was a coaching change between the time Chris originally announced his transfer and now. It was disappointing then, because Mac needed Chris. Fred doesn't need him as bad. Getting him would have been a bonus. But hardly the devastating news it was when it happened under Mac.

That's too bad as I thought he had some potential.

I'm sure Fred wants players who want to be here and who want to play, so won't bug him that much.

Chris seemed a bit imature at times, but heck he was only a freshman. I'm sure some other programs have been sweet talking him pretty good.

Hope he goes to UCONN where he is going to have to sit a year and then by the time the NCAA pulls the sanctions on them he may not ever see the dance...too bad for him.:biglaugh:

Man, this news coupled with the hiring of Hoiberg has made my day! We have a wonderful coach, and in his first year he won't have to put up with Clovin's team-destroying antics, his "advisors", or his over-bearing Dad. Save those problems for year 17.

Prob better, would prefer to just avoid any more drama next year if CC can't beat out DG. Good luck to Chris wherever he lands.

It's a college sports message board, a place for people to say everything they think, the very moment they think it. It makes people feel better knowing they aren't the only one that jumps off of a bridge at every piece of news.
