Up to #17 on Sagarin ...

Just keep winning.

Get next week and maybe back in the Top 25.

An undefeated October and it's gotta be you'd think.

#20 SOS before we play OU or Texas, could be another top 10 SOS year.

Our average opponent rank so far: 56.5

Our average opponent rank the rest of the season: 35 (KU really dragging that down)

If we're #20 SOS with a 56.5 average opponent rank, then for sure we'll be top ten with our remaining schedule.

AP Poll has us 2 spots outside the top 25. A road win over Tech might sneak us into the rankings the following week.

Go 2-0 before the bye week and we'll have ourselves a big time showdown with the Sooners!

Two of the voters who ranked ISU highest (both #20), one is a Lubbock sportswriter. So if ISU wins, he's likely to bump up his ranking.

College Poll Tracker

Two voters have Iowa State #22 -- one is a radio guy in Leawood, Kan., the other a sports writer in Charleston, W.Va. A lil' Big 12 home-cookin' doesn't hurt.

Only other Midwest voter with us in top 25 is from Pioneer Press, the rest come from East, South and West. Rece Davis has ISU #25.

I look at some of the ballots and wonder how a lot of these guys got selected as voters.

If Iowa State ever played Iowa's role of the fake-id of college football, that season was it. OU just pulled the curtain back.

I just remember it being the perfect storm for OU to flex and ISU to...not. Looked like OU had about 20 players on the field.

I think the word was that team was cliquey or didn't get along very well and being a house of cards likely contributed to generally not being very good anyway.
