Unreal Recruiting

Thank god he has done some other things that one could say outweigh his record against ISU.

But your right, I would rather have him be 12-0 against ISU than have four top 10 finishes, 2 big ten championships, and a BCS victory.

amazing FreeRents doesn't win 10 games every year against that crappy schedule.
2012 no different--embarrassingly weak.

Again, no wisconsin or Ohio St on the schedule? lame

ISU should get better so Iowa's schedule could look harder. Please and thanks.

Re: Unknown...

Sure but there must be areas of need you see as a fan. What are they?
16 seniors, we'll give it 4 (total guess) extra scholarships open up so 20 spots for a nice round number. 15 current commits leaves us at 5 open spots

DB - need one more. 3 on board. Losing 3 due to graduation, all safeties. Bringing in 2 that project more as corners to me in Rucker and Warfield, need another safety or player who can convert to a safety along with Hill
RB - need 2. Obvious need, don't think I need to go into it.
OT - need 1. Not an immediate need. Bringing in 2 kids that project as guards. Losing a C, OG and 2nd string OT. Tackles will be intact next year and quite possibly the next year if Donnal moves to the opposite side. Need to bring in an OT who could redshirt. Edit: On second thought, maybe not even put an RS on him. OTs are on the light side. I hate to see a freshman OT put out there, even in garbage time but if we don't need to rely too heavily on him, it might be ok. I just have a very difficult time seeing linemen on either side of the ball play as true freshmen.

Leaves 1 spot.. I'd like to see the best kid we can get at this one. The only position that I can see will have a glaring open spot in the next 2 years is at FB but KF often converts a bigger RB or a smaller TE who can block into his FB. It's also hard to tell what will be needed with the different offense that will be installed with the new OC.

Just my quick 2 cents

Ellen, are you hosting an Obamacare celebratory party tonight?

free embilical cords, nanny service flyers, and food stamps around the punchbowl?:twitcy::twitcy::twitcy:

Awww, poor Jamby can't stay on topic. It's sad, but I feel for him. He doesn't have much to go on, but his little ol' Big12 is so good he can brag about that! Cmon, Jamby, do some conference bragging. Tell me how good the big bad Big12 is. Tell me how hard it is to finish 9th in it.

Good enought to finish #1, ahead of the SEC in power ratings 2011 in football. where was the mighty Big 10?

I can't rationalize with irrational people like yourself. Hawk fans and the media equate an Iowa victory over Indiana in FB to an ISU victory over Okie St, TCU, West Virginia. It really is the same thing.

the delusion starts at the top of Hawkdumb. Jim Zabel, Hayden Fry, Bob Brooks, Gary Dolphin.

Enjoy your gov't health care and nanny-state.

That's more like it. Excellent.

And I hope you're not trying to prop WVU and TCU up to the same level as OSU was last year. Besides the fact that OSU was a much better team than those 2 were last year, what relevance do they have to the conversation anyway? Were they in the B12 last year and did ISU beat them? I clearly missed something here.

Oh god. The creator of this thread wanted it to be friendly "whoa" at the hawks recruiting. It doesn't make sense. Baylor and OK State should be putting up these numbers with the year they just had. Iowa didn't have a great year (no offense, neither of us did) and the recruiting numbers are this high. I'm shocked myself. Based on how the commits spoke about there decision, I wont be expecting to many decommits.

Another example of equating thoses two to some clunker program like Indiana (which iowa has a hard time beating)

TCU ventured into the Rose Bowl two years ago and beat mighty Wisconsin

West Virginia smoked favored Clemson 6 months ago in the Orange Bowl, hanging 70 points on them..

nahh.....these two additions just aren't good. They would be bottom-feeders in the Big Ten...

You're trying way too hard and you're bad at it. I said nothing about those 2 teams in comparison to the Big Ten. I compared them to OSU (because you did originally) and was giving major props to OSU for a hell of a season. If you instead want to say that OSU was no better than the winners of the Big East and the Mountain West by propping them up to that level, then you do that. Considering this, there's no way to back up your claim that the B12 was also better than the SEC because we all know the BE and MWC can't hang with the SEC. So you go do that as well. Instead of ripping on the B10 like you think you're doing, you're ripping on your own conference.

I know I'll be voting for ya Jamby. Vote Jamby - worst internet troll 2012

6-7 ISU was like Iowa's 3rd toughest game last year!

LOL!

I'll take the bait. ISU would be 5th toughest at best:

Michigan
MSU
Penn State
Nerbaska

All 4 clearly tougher games than ISU.

Outside of those 4, Iowa's schedule was bad last year for the most part. Same thing this year.

Gets much tougher in 2013/2014.

Don't apply logic-Jamby gets confused with that!!

I think ISU could have legitimately beaten ped state last year, before or after the scandal. If it's in happy valley PSU wins but in Ames ISU wins.
