UNLV Basketball

I watched UNLV for the first time last night since I couldnt sleep fter I watched the SC/Bama game. If that was the real UNLV team I saw, the NIT might be out of reach. Keep in mind, that Boise team was on a 4 game skid. UNLV looked like they had no real plan all night, and I've never seen a defense give up so many easy layups on drives.

One thing I noticed about Vaughn near the end that I wan't real impressed with was his attitude. Between throwing fits and not trying to run back and stop a break, he seemed immature. From everything I've read/heard, that's the opposite of normal, so maybe he just let the situation get the better of him this time.

Sounds like he's frustrated, though probably not enough to want to transfer to ISU since he wants to jump to the NBA.

The crazy thing is UNLV fans think they're always on the edge of a break out year. They won't ever win with Rice. If he hasn't won with the recruits he has by now he just won't ever be a legit coach. There are so many coaches all over the nation who would have that team in the top 25…imagine what Eustachy in their own conference would do with those studs.

They just beat the six win Nevada team last night. #ClaimingProStyle

For me it's not simply about RV anymore - however that did open my eyes to what's "going on" at UNLV.

and by that, I mean that since Coach Rice got te head coaching job, they have recruited FANTASTICALLY. Even now that the secret is out of the bag (Rice can't coach his way out of a paper bag), they continue to get top tier recruits.

Now, whether something immoral is going on to attract these kids, or not - it's a situation that I can't appreciate.

Me too. It's interesting to watch elite recruits suck to a team that can't win with gobs of elite recruits.

There's really not another situation remotely like it. When you look at say SMU suddenly pulling in studs they have a legend coach and he instantly has them becoming better.

Larry out coaches another one. They couldn't even get the ball in Vaughn's hands that last possession

Larry one of the best X and O's guy out there

Vaughn is a talented kid, too bad he is not in ames getting recognized

Vaughn is beasting today

Vaughn is getting better every game I see him. He is legit. I suspect he has what he wants now which is being the showcase of the team. I could easily see him being a big time scorer in the nba.

Sure glad CSU pulled that out.

You do know that most nba stars are not big scorers. If you average 20, you are doing great.

Vaughn tore his meniscus, could be back for the MW Tourney. I would guess he'd be done unless he has desires to play in the NIT

I feel bad for him. I guess he'll go on to make a lot of money some day but this whole thing has been a debacle and I can't say I blame Vaughn for any of it.

Yea, Vaughn may have gotten a lot of advice, but he was the one with the pen in his hand when he signed up with UNLV.

I don't blame him for signing with UNLV. I would hate for you to go back and nitpick at all my decisions from when I was 18. I have way worse ones with way less pressure placed on me.

I'll show him some compassion, here; basketball isn't everything.
