UNI

As already noted, the UNI game is helpful to both schools. I like seeing a packed JTS and we know we'll get that when playing UNI.

I wasn't suggesting we cancel the series with UNI because I'm scared of losing to them. I would just rather see some different teams come to JTS than we normally get. Personally, I think it's kind of cool to play a team that we (the fans) know nothing about. It gives us a chance to see someone from a different conference and learn a little something about the landscape of college football.

And for those who say that it's a guaranteed sellout, shouldn't every home game be a sellout? Hopefully the day will come when we don't need to schedule UNI to fill the stadium.

In 2001, we beat UNI 41-0, Baylor 45-0, and Kansas 49-7. We also lost to Nebraska 48-14 and K-State 42-3. At least we were consistent. :baffled5wh:

Also, in 2002, we beat Kansas 45-3, Tenn Tech 58-6, and Troy (then Troy State) 42-12. And again we lost to OU 49-3 and K-State 58-7.

Man will I miss the McCarney years.

I think we all will miss Dan.

Last year was a fluke. UNI wont come within 14 points of this team.

I do not think it was a fluke they had a vetran offensive team that recieved 2 gift game films on how to exploit or weak short pass coverage defense. We could not cover the tightend against Toledo or the across the middle at linebacker depth against UNLV, adding to that we could not put pressure on the QB. UNI came in with a offensive gameplan that was not that hard to execute against our D. Everything played in to their strengths on offense. Our offense did not score points and allowed them to stay in the game thus giving them a chance to win the game at the end. If we play the same style of D and do not change things up during the game when things are not going our way, it could and will happen again. GC being a former DC is not going let this happen.
