UNI MBB Steep Decline

The Valley has a non-conference scheduling rule similar to the SEC- the 3 year average of your non-cons for a season must be top half of the 350 DI's is what the SEC's rule is- the Valley's is very similar. So if you schedule a 325, you're also scheduling a 25-30. The league instituted it a few years ago to push to be more than a 1 bid league. Jake has maybe taken it a step further than necessary to be within the league criteria. Don't think any other leagues use this.

They got rid of that rule about a decade ago which, not at all coincidentally, is when the league started to have trouble getting multiple bids consistently.

It's got to be crazy life being on one of these small schools. They spent the entire non conf on the road. Got to be hard keeping up with school with that kind of life.

Coincidentally, we were staying at the hotel the Jackson St team was at on Saturday. I don't think they arrived until close to 9pm. By 9am they were leaving for Hilton. Makes for some long days. My oldest hung out with a few of them in the lobby and said they were nice guys.

And they're flying commercial, it's not like the airports and what not are a terribly pleasant experience either.

They play 3 games in Iowa in 5 days. Just a brutal schedule and I think it showed in their second half issues last night. Thinking about putting some money on Drake tomorrow night even though I think JS is a decent team.
