UNI game....

Sagarin likes the good guys by 10 points. I think it will be less than that, there will be a point late where UNI could score to make it a one possession game but we get a stop, and they start fouling and we make free throws so the final score ends up around 10 but is closer in reality.

I usually don't say things like this but UNI plays harder against us. I hate when people say that, but it is true. I watch the majority of UNI games and they play way better against good teams. More energy and fight. That is why they usually beat good teams in the valley but will drop at least a game or 2 to bad valley teams. If we play like we have the last 2 games against them we will lose this game. If we play our best we will win by 25.

Isn't that true of every team? Much much easier to be excited to play Kansas or Oklahoma than it is to play TCU or Texas Tech.

UNI tends to show up for this game. Glad we aren't ranked #1. They are 2-0 against top-ranked teams!

Will you stop it with the "little bros." to the North crap? We don't like it when Iowa refers to us a their little brother so lets stop promoting what we abhor. Grow up. IB

No thanks. I hate UNI almost as much as Iowa. Probably hate their "fans" even more.

McKay hadn't played a game in almost two years let alone any d1 games. Button won't be as sluggish. Still don't expect him to hit fill form until mid conference though.
Thank God we will finally have someone who can match up with Perry Ellis.

We need a game like this. UNI is a dangerous team that could easily win. If we don't come ready to play and with much better intensity & execution than we have had the last couple of games, UNI will win.

This game is coming at a great time - Burton finally able to play and we need someone that demands our best effort before we enter the Cincinnati and conference games coming soon. I'm looking forward to this one!

Screw you guys, I think we see the highlight-reel, fast-breaking, crowd gesturing Cyclones take over WFA and pound UNI.

ISU 82
UNI 65

Trampling these guys would be just as satisfying as trampling KU, OU, Texas, or Iowa, but that's not how being a Cyclone works.

I think we'll put on a better effort against UNI than we did early against Iowa or all game against APB, but UNI will shoot about 15% over their historical average (because ISU) and put us in a position for another frantic, stressful second half. I see Georges and McKay in foul trouble most of the night, just because.

Naz or Matt hits a late 3 to give us the edge.

I want to reply to this post so bad but I don't want to get banned again!

Is there any way we can beat UNI by a half a point?

Otherwise I won't be able to use the "We beat iowa by a bigger margin than we beat UNI, therefore UNI is better than iowa" concept.

Put Niang in post more on offense and bring Naz off bench and watch this team look like a top 5 team should.

I'm really hoping that yesterday was kind of the start of this and Naz accepts that role because I like us much better with Thomas in the starting lineup at this point.

Score tied at the end of regulation and ISU wins by 13 in OT.

I am not hoping for this, by the way.

This game is on ESPNyoooouuu.

The state's third place game is "streaming".

Hello again Cyclone fans. Hoping this game is more competitive than the football game was this fall.

I'm expecting another good game between these two teams, even though ISU appears to have the advantage on paper. Jacobson will have the team ready for ISU as he always does. UNI really needs this game to get another strong non-conference victory if they have any shot at an at-large bid this season.

For more info on UNI, we currently use a four guard lineup with Washpun, Bohannon, Morgan, Jesperson, and Koch starting every game this year. UNI is currently 6-3 with a win over previously No. 1-ranked UNC (although without Marcus Paige) and a decent Stephen F. Austin team. The losses are to Colorado State at home in the season opener (probably a game UNI should have won), and on the road to Richmond and New Mexico (likely two NCAA tournament teams this season). As you can tell, UNI has been inconsistent early on. If they play to their potential, they can beat any team in the country. If not, they can lose to any team in the country. Our bigs (Koch, Friedman, Carlson) are young and have experienced some growing pains this year so the team relies heavily on the guards and 3-point shooting. If UNI can hit their outside shots and defend the paint, I like their chances to keep this game close. If not, I can see ISU winning by 20 points.

As someone who follows UNI basketball closely, I will say that we have increased our offensive pace this year, to me it seems like we have picked up the pace drastically but we still rank 312th in the NCAA in terms of offensive tempo (I think we were about 348 last year) - so yes, you can likely count on UNI trying to dictate the speed of the game, if at all possible.

As I mentioned before, if UNI can limit the damage down low and hit some 3s, they can make it a game. In all honesty, I think it will be close for the first 30 minutes or so, with ISU pulling away by about 10 points late. UNI just isn't the same team without Tuttle this season and it shows with their inconsistency.

After Saturday, I wish you well on the rest of your season. Congrats on beating the Hawkeyes (F*** Iowa) and I hope you can dethrone Kansas.
