*****Umbrella Academy Mafia******

Alright, some actual initial strategy thoughts:

1) Klaus is easily the most important innocent in the game.

" Klaus Hargreeves – Ability to pm dead innocent players. Please start a new PM with each individual. No dead group chats."

As long as he is alive then Number 5 may as well investigate every other night and keep the information to themselves. If Number 5 (JOAT) dies they can just let Klaus know the investigation results (assuming catastrophe doesn't strike and they both die same night).

2) Not having a real straight up detective in this game is going to make things tough. Thinking caps required.

3) With one lynch, one mafia night kill, one requisite vigilante hit nightly, this could easily be over in 5 days one way or the other. Vanya's role will likely not come into play. If it does come into play it will be a major boon for innocents.

4) I really hope @bsaltyman isn't Diego.

5) Question regarding the Handler for @moores2 : does the Handler choose a ROLE to block or a PLAYER to block? The difference between the two is stark. For instance, if the Handler can simply block vig hit every other night and detective work every other night, that's pretty danged overpowering.

Also, Can the Handler block Klaus from communicating with the dead?

6) Similarly, can Number 5 just role block the Handler every other night?

Handler chooses a role to block, but must also include the specific character (not player). Number 5 and Luther must choose a player to block if they want to block. They can not block the same character 2 nights in a row.

No, the handler cannot block Klaus.

Alright, so the mafia would probably want to block detective work and vigilante kills first and foremost. So Number 5 needs to play a game of chicken with the mafia probably. Will mafia try to block his detective role or Diego's vig kill on night 1?

So question to everyone - if you were Number 5, what would you do on night 1, knowing this?

I would choose to role block :jimlad:

Number 5 and Luther can effectively lock down the mafia's power roles which I think are their role bloke and influencer. Maybe start Luther block the influencer and 5 block the handler.

Regarding your 4th point: Don’t worry because I’m not Diego. I know the one time that I was the vigilante I got a little kill happy, but I did kill two mafia that game, and the innos won, so it turned out ok. This game I am an innocent, but I can’t exactly prove it or anything at this point.

Ok. I might be an idiot here, which is likely, but just so I understand, the Handler's role will thus be in play every night because they will chose a character/role to block every night regardless if they know which person is that character, Correct?

I wish. I love margaritas.

But now I'm realizing moores said No5 and Luther role block PLAYERS while mafia role block CHARACTER/ROLE.
Wow I didn’t notice that until you said so. That would seem like a big advantage for the mafia.

Also, what does being a limey have to do with margaritas? Isn’t a limey slang for being British?

You're point #1 makes a lot of sense and I think if who ever has those roles doesn't do this, we are really behind the eight ball, unless I am missing something.

It was a joke! Not a very good one though.

I decided to allow the innos the same level of blocking as the mafia. I agree, that would have been a massive advantage.

Ok. Thank you good sir. That makes way more sense but I wasn't sure I was following you correctly.
