Bartelt, Meza, and Herrera will be a very good class. Would’ve been elite (like our 2022 class) if we could’ve landed Davino
Bartelt needs to come to Iowa for his senior year of high school and start the transition early
I didn’t know we were in the talks with Davino! I haven’t seen Herrera really wrestle but I’m super impressed with Meza when I watched him at the US open.

Buf and stuclone had mentioned a while back that they heard davino was a silent commitment to us and then osu went nil crazy about him.
Not sure how accurate that is, but I’ve learned to listen to those two guys
I never really followed wrestling recruiting.. it seems like we have some absolute studs coming in the next few years. Were our recent top guys pretty highly rated in HS with the accolades that the incoming guys have?
Carr and Swiderski were. Gaitan was a late bloomer but got up to top 20. Rojas was a big recruit. Redding, Paniro, and Coleman were top 60-100 guys that our staff did a great job developing.
Going back a couple years, Sam Colbray was a top 25ish guy, Jarrett Degen was probably closer to 100.
Meza looked terrible in both his matches this morning. Not sure what was up but went to his back easy with an arm bar. No feet defense. Never looked anything like last month.
Gaitan won a tight match with Wask but he always heavy on his feet and falling as he reaches. Hopefully, he can clean this up before next season. Gaitan did have 3 nice lower level TDs though so his offense seems to be getting better.
