Tyrese Hunter PG '21 - Committed!

We got lots of PT available for any transfers who want a shot in the B12! If TJ can sell that and get the right dudes, the long rebuild ahead might not be so long.

TJ assistants too. Ideally one or two assistants bring a recruit or player. We need that influx of talent.

It certainly would help things in TJ's first year. Team is dying for a strong point guard
Hunt would likely start day one. Remember the days of Stinson, Blaylock? Both I think started as Freshman. Seems like the Freshman recruited by Steve just wern't going to play for awhile.

Well of course there was Tyrese, Horton-Tucker, Wigginton. But other than those 3, LOL

Feast or famine?

At this point, it's kinda just a part of the college basketball landscape. I would not mind whatsoever if one of the four? spots secured a stud.

Feast or famine sums up recruiting the past 6 years pretty well.

Honestly I think it was a matter of player development too. Obviously that's not all on coaches, the players themselves are the biggest factor. However, guys like T-Lew or Zion Griffin were highly regarded guys that just didn't seem to grow much in their time here. I'm guessing given the amount of support TJ has received from former players that he'll do better in that department, at least.

Thats the thing, every school has misses. They could have been misses for someone else too.

This. So, so much. I think players have to take it on themselves to improve their own skills. But, they also must have the natural talent that they can develop. Guys like you mentioned just either didn't have the raw talent or they just never were able to maximize it. Just like in football, a lot of those 4 star guys just don't do the work to become elite.

Wasn’t McKinley Wright coming here until Prohm pulled his scholarship or something? Dude has had a great career at Colorado.

Agree, it’s largely on the players, so development is largely recruiting the right type. I think TJ will do better in this regard. He wants guys that live basketball. On the other hand, Zion was never developing under any of the past 6 coaches we’ve had imo.
