Two missing girls

I know polygraph tests were done. Do we know that they passed them 100%? Even if they failed the entire test, can they be arrested? I don't believe you can actually arrest someone because of a polygraph.

Could be that the police pressed for good reason. Could be that they pressed because they're getting nowhere and need something.

We don't know enough to be real sure here.

Not that I have any evidence whatsoever to back this theory up (obviously), but one can hope that maybe this was a Gone Baby Gone-type scenario, where someone took them (or they went willingly) knowing that they wouldn't be subjected to awful parenting the rest of their lives.
 
There was a cruel rumor that the girls were found last night. Police quickly shot it down. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this rumor was leaked by the FBI to try and get some activity going with the people they are watching. Maybe the captors would take this kind of rumor as a sign the Feds are closing in, making that 50k reward look very handsome to somebody with info.
 
FBI said they have reason to believe that they are still alive, but would not give how/where they got the info to conclude that

You're right! Why isn't the FBI bring completely transparent? We deserve to know everything they know as taxpayers.
 
Reading between the lines of this morning's DMR article, it sounds like the FBI thinks the one set of parents knows what happened.

Don't have the paper in front of me right now, but for the FBI to come out and say they think they're alive is pretty telling to me. No way they do that if they don't feel very strongly that they are alive. It would look horrible if they're wrong. There were other comments also.
 
Hasn't there been quotes from the FBI that they haven't been getting complete cooperation from the family and close friends. They said that they are getting some cooperation from some friends and some family, but the inner circle seems to have shut down.

Yeah I agree that if the FBI says they're alive, they almost have to know something.
