Most TV announcers are annoying. If they have nothing useful to say about the game keep quiet, don't rehash tidbits about players from the press release.

But at least you can turn the sound down. There's nothing you can do about annoying camera work. Does anyone want to see a 3 second close up of a player's face after every made basket, thereby missing the inbounds play or backcourt action? And if they simply must show the face, have they ever heard of picture in picture?

It's not that easy to set up a quick picture in picture when the action is as fast as it is in a basketball game. So they'd be better off just not showing the close up in your scenario.

I can hardly listen to BJ Schaben. Everything is over the top. He seldom offers constructive criticism of the team/play.

Yeah I have to agree with this. B.J. is a really nice guy but I'm not a fan of him on TV

I saw on my DirecTV guide that the game will be played on channel 680, in HD.

Every Saturday Big 12 Network game was in HD last year. That will be the case again this year. They are still working to get the midweek games in HD. There are a finite amount of HD production trucks, and each one costs several million to build.
