Looking forward to the game, we are making the trip up and have heard the tailgating is great which I like to hear. Glad they moved the start time back, no college football game should start at 11am.

I hate everything about you.

Talking about Clonecones of course. Have fun at the game, DirtyDan.

I hope you enjoy your trip, and the game! There have been some good threads here lately about where to park, motels, local restaurants, etc.

haha nice name.

Take in the tailgating environment, it really is one of the best setups and atmosphere's you'll ever see. It's underrated, ISU fans really have tailgating down to a science. Walk around and strike up some conversations with Cyclone fans. If you want a tailgating lot to party hard in, head to G2 or G3 (student lots). Most other public lots are pretty laid back and have a nice family atmosphere.

Driving to Des Moines tomorrow, hopefully waking up early enough to avoid traffic Saturday depends on the hangover from the road pops. Then plan on ripping a case before the game, defiantly going to be tailgating in the student lots, I bet with the weather as it is the scenery should be good.

Yeah Iowa is a lot more laxed in their alcohol laws than Oklahoma. You can even buy hard liqour in some gas stations now and even cold beer higher than 3.2%

Sounds like you're staying in Des Moines Friday night? Head down to Court Ave Entertainment District if you're looking for a little pregame day warm-up. A lot of bars/food in the area.

YOu'll enjoy the tailgating in Ames. It is a great time!

Already have the scoreboard set up for you! Apologies for the threads if you are on the rivals Tulsa board...

No need to buy beer Friday night, IMO. East Lincoln Hy-Vee will be open when you roll into Ames.

Its your call, but then you don't have to worry about overnight refridgeration.
