Tulsa coach talks Iowa State

Sadly, I don't think Sam will be much of a dual threat.

Great. So, translation: "We want to get another BCS win and ISU seems like the next likely candidate since they are so young and desperate."

That, and the fact that our offense is designed around a running QB (so they say) and we have a QB who can't run due to injury.

Rohach better be ready, is all I can say. This has the makings of a coming out party for him.

Here is Tulsa's injury report, I guess I didnt know Garrett was out for the season, what a huge loss for them.

Tulsa lost all 4 starters on the defensive line from last year and 3 from the offensive line. 3 starters lost in the secondary from last year and the only returning starter is likely to miss the game tomorrow. So if we cant score on this team or move the ball, its time to throw in the towel.

Only returning starters are 2 linebackers, 2 offensive lineman, quarterback, hb and receiver.

We will probably make their defense look like the '85 Bears.

Thats all I got.

Looked like a really nasty leg break during the Co State game. Looked REALLY painful. Belitnikoff award nominee. Always hate to see studs go down with injury. I was glad for him/Tulsa that they came back and pulled out the W. Crazy finish to that game.

We could have Calvin Johnson as wide receiver and it wouldn't matter with Cody Green as our qb. But in all seriousness we are getting back one of our best route runners Thomas Roberson for this game, it probably won't matter though because Cody Green will hit him in the feet.

Thank you for trying to make us feel better. It is much appreciated :biglaugh:

I could probably copy past this with different names and many posters here would tell you the same thing about ISU

Tulsa Coach: "ISU sucks, but we kind of do too, so this game is just going to be generally terrible for all involved."

I didnt think he was going to play? How long has he been out for? What was his injury? He was the lone returning receiver from last season after Garrett went down. Also do you know the extent of the injuries of the other guys on that injury report I posted?

Roberson is coming back after a pretty bad concussion that made him sit out the first three games. Jordan James is also a returning starter and he is our go to guy now, he has done a pretty good job stepping up after the Garrett injury. For those two defensive players I have no idea, their injuries didn't seem too major so a week off I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one of them back on the field.

The summary is they will overload in the box and crash the running backs until Sam proves that he can run the ball. Offensively we need to connect deep early in this game if we want to have a chance. If not they will have 8 guys in the box and only focus on our running backs. If Sam can't run hopefully he found his throwing accuracy back or we have to see Grant early. By early I mean the 3rd series and not the second drive of the second half.

Go State!!
