I forgot all about Utah. The flashbacks had ended. That makes sense, but now I'm forced to acknowledge some dark, dark memories.

Tech fans only want to discuss the last 10 years. Hawk fans scream bloody murder if you only talk about the last 10 years. Talk amongst yourselves.
When did Rhoads string together 5 win seasons at ISU? He implied that Texas Tech is on the same level as Oklahoma and Texas, and it wasn't on accident.
No I didn't. I said that the record Rhoads had in his first 3 years at ISU would have gotten him fired at Lubbock, Norman or Austin. Just because that record would get you fired at all 3 doesn't mean I am saying all 3 are equal, that's putting a lot of words in my mouth and then just drawing a really poor conclusion.
Like I said, I like Rhoads and think he should be given time to build the program back up from Chizik's disaster, and the situation at ISU and TTU is different, but multiple 5, 6 or even 7 win seasons will get you fired at Tech. Our AD has a happy trigger finger.
I think you are jumping to conclusions. We are clearly a tier below. The point TTUAdvisor was making is that stringing 5 win seasons together at Texas Tech will get you fired, like it would at UT or OU.
Of course circumstances are different between states of our respective programs and thats what causes different fan and administrative expectations. TTUAdvisor was just pointing it out. Expectations at Tech are that we get 7/8 or more wins or Tuberville is on the hot seat.
You still lumped them together insinuating that they are all alike and on the same level. Again, why would you choose your program and the two most successful programs in the Big 12 to try to prove a point? Why wouldn't you choose K-State or OSU?

Hopefully we sell out the game and really send a shock through their systems

If I knew you in person I would take the bet myself. Thats not terrible odds. Not a clinch, but not terrible.
Once again, you're putting words in my mouth and making insinuations for me. If you just want to put words in my mouth you can argue with yourself and I'll bid you good night.
Actually, I've seen about 99.5% of ISU fans predicting a win on Saturday, while only 80% something of Texas Tech fans(according to Stanley's poll) are predicting a Tech win. It's pretty clear that the ISU fanbase is much more sure of themselves than the Tech fanbase.
Do some research. 5 win seasons get you fired here. McCarney got fired. We have expectations. This is more of that Texas arrogance that I just love to curb stomp each and every year in one way, shape or form. You guys aren't that good. You may beat us, but I doubt it. You guys suck hind tit last year, beat three awful teams and now you are talking smack on our board? Raggies. Red Raggies.
Meanwhile I'd bet ihavnocash $100 that we (ISU) won't win 8 games this year or next.
Its stupid because as an ISU guy I find myself defending the TTech posters. 5 win season get you fired but what about a string of 6 win seasons? What about a sub 30% winning percentage in the B12?
TTech guys - we are ISU and the fact we're talking smack is flat out goofy. Your program has been what we aspire to and while TTub may not get the wins this year, he is an established top-tier coach and MANY in the ISU community would have felt blessed if he could come coach in Ames.
They can still find common ground on Rivals ratings, how their coaches have been put in "bad" situations, and how they have historically been better than lowly Iowa State.
To be fair... which programs have been worse than Iowa State? A hundred years without a conference championship is pretty epic.
That's an issue. I don't aspire to be a program who wins 11 games once and never wins a conference championship.
We're struggling to be program that wins 11 games over 2 years... I'd provide my left nut on a platter for an 11 win season that did NOT include a conference championship.
You gotta have high standards, but you have to be realistic and accept the small steps that hopefully lead to greatness.
