Fran has literally won (1) thing in his entire tenure at Iowa...a Big 10 conf tourney championship.
That is it...
Tom Davis was 10x the coach and recruiter.
Tom Davis did it in a stacked Big Ten conference too. The B1G has been extremely top heavy for quite a few years now. The conference is a shell of what it was back in the 80's and 90's.

Listening to Little Trent and Miller this morning. Delusional guy. He's rooting big time for LSU tonight.
In his dreams. Davis won around 13 NCAA Tournament games while at Iowa.
Read on ESPN that Fran is 4-6 in NCAA Tournament games as Iowa's coach. The WORST win % in Big10 history among 35 coaches with more than 5 NCAA Tournament games.

Before this year Fran had not won more than 1 game in Big 10 tournament or NCAA tournament before being eliminated in the postseason. Hell even Steve Prohm won 2 conference tournament championships and a Sweet 16 appearance at ISU in half the time Fran has been at Iowa.
Iowa is still a far cry from the level Tom Davis at it. He was 20-10 and reached a Sweet 16 in his last season at Iowa, 2 sweet 16's and an elite 8 appearances, made the NCAA tournament 9 out of 13 seasons and did not get eliminated in any of the first rounds and 2 NIT appearances with just 2 losing seasons.
Fran on the other hand I realize took over a horrible program from Lickliter but they have had talented teams in his tenure that have flopped too. 11 seasons with 5 NCAA appearances, 1 first four loss, 3 NIT, no sweet 16's and 1 covid canceled year. Give me a break Trent... maybe the past few seasons talent wise he has brought it up to best it has been since Tom Davis but they don't have much to show for it in the postseason especially considering he's had 2 of the best players to ever play in the program in Garza and Murray.
He's just pandering to his audience. Deep in his black hok heart he's hoping we get beat tonight. Like every hok hopes for. Whiney Tom Kakert is making his excuses now. Have you ever heard a more annoying voice on the radio than this guy? Tom claims Connor the Thug will be back.
Fran has won 6 total NCAA tournament games in 25 years as a head coach.
I would actually agree that Fran is performing at the same level that got Tom fired. Now they give out extensions for it.

TJ took over a decimated program from Prohm - one that won TWO games the entire season! Also, our best player from that season transferred and is a starter for #1 Gonzaga this year. Hoks are full of excuses and hyperbole (often in the same sentence) - it is why I RARELY listen to people like Condon.
