TJ has work to do. Center and SF could each use a starter from the portal.
I'm guessing they get a 5 type player. I think they'll be ok at the 3/4.

I think we'll play one of the 4s some at the 3 (probably at the 5 as well). But Watson, Fish and Hamilton really don't move the needle compared to the rest of the roster.I'm guessing they get a 5 type player. I think they'll be ok at the 3/4.

I hope so, I just don't see Watson as a great fit next year at the three with roster makeup. (Think we could use a sniper at SF) So then we'd be counting on two freshmen to fill the need.I think you will like Fish. Hamilton and Watson will be fine as long as they keep developing. Could go three guard lineup. Williams, Lipsey, Grill, Biliew, King?
Have loved what Watson has given the team this year when called upon. But like you, I feel his offensive game needs a TON of work if he's gonna continue to see any sort of regular rotation minutes. Air balling wide open 3's has not been a good lookI hope so, I just don't see Watson as a great fit next year at the three with roster makeup. I actually go back and forth on this because having 3 SF out of the rotation will lead to guys that can really help us in the future not sticking around versus if we find the right center it would be a shame to not have the one piece that could put us over the top.
Exactly, I do believe Watson can be a solid contributor in the future. He bring aggressive rebounding to a team that in the future will have Momcilovic and Indrusaitis raining in the threes.Have loved what Watson has given the team this year when called upon. Tre King will be back.He sat out nearly two years to play for us. Next year where he'll have a bigger role, I hightly doubt he wants to leave.
I like him. He is not B12 ready right now. Cannot finish. I think he will be pretty good by his junior year. He is not a guard, more traditional small forward. The minutes available get pretty tight with Milan and Omaha coming in - they are going to play a lot - imo.Exactly, I do believe Watson can be a solid contributor in the future. I would like to have Ward back. A full offseason with this staff could turn him into a consistent Big 12 post player imo. They need to have him back and sign one more 5 for next year, I think.Tre King will be back.
The one I am not convinced will return is Hassan Ward. I have zero inside info. Just my take on the situation - body language, playing time (close to zero) etc. he has one year remaining and he may want a bigger role than seems likely at ISU.

Agree, but today Holmes missed a lot of shots at the basket. Look at the shot chart (on ESPN), amazing amount of paint misses for ISU yesterday.Gotta play an inside out game. Cycling the ball around the perimeter and chucking up a shot isn't a winning formula. Today, we got the ball into the interior in the first half. Second half, Gabe and Jalen starting putting up perimeter shots without going inside. What happened? We need a consistent scorer inside. Not all points have to come from him, but he needs to touch the ball most possessions to make those perimeter shots easier.
FIFYCF needs more posters with fully developed frontal lobes.
It's a guards game, but really good offensive teams have post guys they go to on the block. It's a big help for jump shooting guards if opponents defense collapses on the post. You can’t win games by going to your post players. Like it or not, basketball is a guards game now and none of the guards for ISU are making shots.
We are fine at the 3/4. We have Biliew, Momcilovic, and King to fill those spots.I'm guessing they get a 5 type player. I think they'll be ok at the 3/4.
Ward has a great motor. Even if he can develop Robert Jones level post skills for next season, that would be a win.Ward would be a sit one play one transfer. Anything is possible, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed and was much better after getting the summer work in.
Don't forget Robert JonesWe are fine at the 3/4. We have Biliew, Momcilovic, and King to fill those spots.
I know he’s a freshman but I’d like to see Lipsey’s volume increase. Teams are giving him the midrange shot and I’d rather see him take an open 15 footer than so many off balance 3s by Gabe and Grill and deep 3s by Holmes. Tamin stroked a foul line jumper late at WVU in a pressure situation. Often times he ends up with the ball late in the shot clock and he always looks for someone else. I think Tamin looking for his shot more will get his teammates open more.It seems like we make it a point to get Rob the ball in the post but don't pass to Osun or King as much when they're posting up. It's weird. And this isn't me bashing on Rob he's played better the last couple games but Osun and King are better on the block Imo. And yes on days when Holmes and Gabe are awful on offense we definitely need to try something else.
Next year we have Omaha, Milan, Tamin, and Tre four of our likely five starters. Tre will be a big piece of the squad in 23-24.
