Can someone please ask TJ about his lack of use of King in 2nd halves? He was the reason it was somewhat close after Gabe went out, and did he even see the floor for more than 5 minutes in the 2nd half? TJs lineups are very confusing, and his insistence on giving Jones more minutes than any big

King posts up do hard and works so hard down there but it’s just never the right time or there’s not an open passing lane

It seems he’s always forced to guard smaller/quicker guys in perimeter space and he just can’t keep up. Gave up two wide open threes in the first half. I don’t know if that’s a product of staff misusing him, being a tweener, good coaching on the other end or what.

Feel like they should be using king at the 5, not the 4. He’s quick and strong enough to take it to the taller guys. He goes up a lot stronger than Osun.
Last year, when questions would arise about our post problems, the response was, King had to sit and he will help it out next year. When he gets eligible, he ends up as a tweener 3/4.

That's a product of poor coaching as the ENTIRE team has spacing and over-collapse/help issues. Holmes is easily the worst player on the team at over-helping and giving up wide open, corner threes.

Yes you have to give credit where it was due. Not the problem at all tonight

Jones has played within himself the last several games but should never get 20 minutes in any game unless it's absolutely needed.

I've advocated for King playing the 5 for a while now. At the very least, its something that should have been tried with some consistency. King has a better post game, more offensive upside, is an infinitely better rebounder (especially on the offensive glass), and is even a better defender in the post. Simply put, Bob is a place holder whereas King can be a difference maker. It's probably more important now with the team being such a mess.

Again, especially right now, Jones isn't the problem. Our problems start on the defensive end where teams have exploited our inability to implement selective aggression. We collapse on any ball that goes inside and teams simply set up shooters in the corners for wide open threes. Our rebounding has fallen off and our offense is an absolute train wreck. The team wastes time early in the clock and has been prone to chucking poor shots late. At this point the poor defense limits easy transition buckets, the offense and poor shots have led to transition the other way, and as a result we are playing from behind or in much closer games.

It seems apparent the staff is not making adjustments in practice or in games. It would appear we practice the collapse, lack emphasis on maintaining spacing to facilitate close outs, and practice 'body defense' that constantly places us in foul trouble. At some point you adjust or teams will continue to exploit you. Right now it's the latter every single time we take the floor.
