Looks like things are going well in Tuscaloosa. You never want to replace the legend and this one is already off to a treacherous start with all the transfers and a fan base that is already on edge.

I understand why people would think Proctor would go to Iowa, but from his side I don't see it being a great fit. The last 2 or 3 + years Iowa's OLine has not developed at all. Now, he's probably going to be a first round pick just due to starting at Saban's Bama as a freshman, so maybe that doesn't matter as much. I'd just use Iowa as leverage to boost up my NIL dollars from a better school.
Deboar was doing pretty bad recruiting at Washington so not surprised. His class next year was ranked 30th, and that was before a couple big pieces pulled out a few weeks ago (prior to speculation of him leaving). I think he's a good in-game and planning coach, but he's going to need seriously better recruiting by his new staff - the Bama name without Saban only goes so far.Looks like things are going well in Tuscaloosa. Reports from the Proctor camp are that Iowa is tossing $1M at himFor what it's worth, I read an article that tried to place an NIL value on all of Alabama's transfers. They had Proctor at just short of $500,000.
I hope you’re right.
My theory is that Bama's war-chest isn't anything close to what people think it is. Instead players were committing to Saban and his legacy. Now that that is gone, they expect money and it's not there.
That can’t be right. I mean…all those burned bridges.Reports from the Proctor camp are that Iowa is tossing $1M at him
Same reason he was against the early signing period in December, it allowed non-elite programs to protect their recruits so Bama couldn't swoop in last minute and poach.Agree on the war chest. That's one of the reasons Saban was so anti-NIL a few years ago. He didn't want the system he was dominating to be changed.
To Alabama's credit they have adjusted very well to NIL. I believe they were the first team to have an NIL store in their stadium where fans can purchase apparel created by players.
However it doesn't appear they are doing nearly as well in the pay for play arena.
I can't see this but who knows. I know they have more NIL money than we do, but they have a ton wrapped up into McNamara and Catlin Clark. Clark at least has ROI.Reports from the Proctor camp are that Iowa is tossing $1M at him
Just browsing Bama boards, rumor is that he banged a boosters wife while he was at Bama. With the talks of NIL and Bama, I would have taken a hard look at Lane if I wad the AD.
I know they kind of ran him off but he screams NIL to me.

All of Clark’s NIL is independent, she opted out of the Swarm Collective.I can't see this but who knows. I know they have more NIL money than we do, but they have a ton wrapped up into McNamara and Catlin Clark. Clark at least has ROI.
I really don't see Iowa spending 1M on a lineman. I would rather go find 4 really good ones for 250k each versus one 5star for 1M anyway. I guess there has to be ones available though.
and I was wrong......he commits to Iowa. their offense just got much better. proves that burning bridges don't matter. Money matters.
This makes the most sense then. Iowa just catching a break I guess. All of Clark’s NIL is independent, she opted out of the Swarm Collective.
Condon said there wasn’t much NIL coming this time around for Proctor. Just wanted to come home and Iowa was the best fit from that perspective. Who knows.

Go on…There is a less than 10% chance Proctor goes to UI. It’s more likely he goes to ISU. FWIW, I don’t believe he’ll do that either. He’ll end up withdrawing and Bama will give him a raise
