Tournament Site Preference

Obviously Omaha would be the number one choice. It is the closest and borders our state. But what should we root for for number two?

I vote Pittsburgh or Columbus but Louisville is technically closer than Pittsburgh.

Omaha...Omaha...Omaha! I don't care if a division is better suited for them or where they'll play if they advance. I just want to be within very reasonable driving distance of my team for once!

Omaha would be great but I think we have to win out and win the Big 12 tournament to get it.

After that, anywhere a plane can get would be fantastic.

The only place I care about is Omaha. I've never been to a tournament site before and it would be awesome to have the chance to go.

I've driven from Northeast Ohio (think Pitt) in one day before. It's doable.

Omaha is not goint to happen with Missouri and Kansas going to get better seeds than us.

Louisville, Columbus, Nashville, Pittsburgh (other than Omaha) are the only ones even considerably within driving distance, IMO. Louisville or Columbus would be the best/closest, and I would consider going to those. Nashville and Pittsburgh are each over 10 hours...so I don't think that's an option.

Would be huge if KU lost like 3 games down the stretch here and got a 3 seed. We would then have a chance at a 7 or 10 seed in Omaha, then the Sweet 16 in St. Louis!!!!

Top 4 seeds in each region get subregions as near to campus as possible — 1's and 2's taking precedence, then 3 and 4 usually.

That doesn't always hold true for various reasons (there have been cases when advantage in 4-5 and even 3-6 went to the lower seed; or there may be a team that is a 4 seed that just happens to be far away from a location that isn't already accounted for.

(Didn't explain that very well, I admit)

Example in latest ESPN bracketology: Indiana and Wisconsin are both 4, but placed in Portland with San Diego State and St. Mary's at 5 seed — both definitely closer than the 4. But those seedings could easily be flipped anyway (dependent on additional bracketing rules). But notice 1-2 seeds are extremely close to home; 3's aren't too far away.

If not Omaha, then Albuquerque, Portland, Louisville, or Pittsburgh because those sites play on Thursday and I have tickets to the Omaha games on Friday.

I don't think ISU has won an NCAA tourney game in the Pacific time zone, so anywhere but there.
