Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

It is time to give Fran his props. They just beat a Tom Izzo led team in their own house, trotting guys like Pr. Sandfort, Brock Harding, ladji Dambele, and Even Brauns out there for a combined 27 minutes. Fran should be winning conference coach of the year titles and other B1G coaches should be losing their jobs for losing to him and the Missouri Valley conference roster he is rolling out there on an annual basis. I would love to see Iowa go thru just one season in the Big 12, because then I am fairly confident he would've been exposed by now. Steve Prohm could've guided the 2020-21 Cyclones to a .500 record in the current B1G

Watched the game…no matter ones individual hate level of Iowa, Izzo is really a ****. He should have five technicals minimum per game. Every time you touch an official should be an auto ejection.

Man, Izzo really should have hung it up about a decade ago.

I've always more or less liked Fran. A few things about him have become clear in his eternal tenure over there:

1) He's not a bad basketball coach.
2) He's not a bad person.
3) He's not a bad option to send your son to play for (other than losing minutes to his kids that they don't deserve, of course lol).

***4) He's IS pretty bad at everything else, tho.

...So there's that.

Watching ISU/Houston last night and then Iowa/MSU tonight was eye opening. It’s like watching a completely different sport.

The biggest difference I see is ball pressure. Iowa/MSU could pass it around the perimeter with ease. ISU/Houston- everything across half court is contested. Everything. You have to earn it.
