I think it was one of those plays that knock the wind out of you and is very scary to have happen. His leg got hooked while in mid air and he had no way to break his fall. It was a pretty hard hit on his shoulder and he was shaken up. He left the court to be checked out and missed a lot of the second half.

Have you ever watched basketball before? It is rampant in every game and I didn't see anything outlandish last night at all.
Sandfort in particular was going on a tirade in the dying seconds of the game after not getting a favorable whistle on a 3 pointer that he air-balled or had deflected. Wanted a foul, which the refs didn't call, yet he ignored playing defense and decided he'd rather jaw at the refs, and then continued to do it into the next dead ball timeout. What did he think would happen, they'd go back and look at it and reverse it? I get maybe trying to argue a case to impact how things are called later in the game, but there was certainly under a minute left at this point, so it just came off as cringey and whiny to me.
Getting back to the Final Four in 2024 would be quite an accomplishment. They are certainly among those favored right now to be there. Just getting there is really something for a school not in the "elite" few. The elites dominate the tourney most every year. Returning again in 2025 would again be quite an accomplishment. Iowa has a really good recruiting class committed for 2024. On paper the 2024-25 roster would be comprised of players ranked higher than the seniors that will graduate but they will be freshman. With Clark at PG they could still be very good.
At one point, I think there were three or four Hawkeye players around the refs with their arms out ******** about a call. Fran must make that an emphasis at practice.
The Creighton game. They were complaining on just about every single foul called on them. They also had a ton of fouls not called that very easily could've been. They're just a whiny bunch. It's really annoying. Granted the "and one" call was bad, but they could've had an intentional foul called on that play, so it was probably a wash.
Maybe less fake tough guy stuff, but they still whine incessantly at the refs, especially Perkins and Sandfort.
I commented on something similar watching their NCAA game, but that leads to a lack of mental toughness that puts a lid on how much they can accomplish
The biggest reason I can never fully take Iowa seriously. Fran runs a clown show on the side at basketball practices seemingly.
I’d take Freeman. Looks like he could become a pretty nice inside scoring threat.
Stop me if you've heard this before, but Iowa struggles with keeping average guards out of the paint and doesn't rebound well.

Yeah this didnt happen the way Dave said at all. The fact the refs let a potentially unconscious player lay in the field of play for that long is the biggest issue here

To their credit, it works for them in Carver all the time. Dribble into contact, oversell it like HBK vs Hogan at Summerslam 2005, and get rewarded with a foul call.
Sandfort was obviously contact hunting on that play and the refs gave him nothing. He tossed up a totally putrid shot on what was basically Iowas final chance to stay in the game too. You dont get those calls on the road(shouldnt at home either, but you get my point here)
