Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

I think Iowa wins by more than 10 today. Iowa had a terrible game there a few weeks ago and I don't see them repeating that performance. Rutgers isn't exactly the world's most efficient offensive team either. This is one where I see Iowa hitting some shots early, going up about 15 in the first half and cruising to the semi-finals against likely Illinois (but I could definitely see Indiana pulling the upset).

I think Iowa rolls today. 20pt win.

No friggin way. This is exactly the team this board says we struggle with. Long armed, physical team that can switch everything. It will be close game either way
Rutgers isn't usually good enough on offense to exploit Iowa's defensive issues though, which is why I think Iowa wins easily today. It will definitely be a bit tougher for Iowa to score today, but I think they can do it way more efficiently than they did against Rutgers the first time around and they will generally be more efficient at scoring than Rutgers will be. That's a recipe for a 10+ point win for Iowa with very little heartburn.

They are 74th on KP. Defense is decent but not great. Iowa should win easily.

If it comes down to free throws.........then I think Iowa goes down. Just by how they've been doing at the line lately.

I hope you're right and they aren't great offensively but they're more equipped than most to contain the Murray's. I'm worried law of averages flips with yesterday's shooting. If it's close I don't trust us either until we win one of those games

I know that compared to the rest of the dog **** that is this year’s big 10, they may look the part of imposing. But I looked it up they’re an 18 win team with losses to Lafayette and depaul, and Minnesota who is the worst team in a bad league

It’s like playing Maryland in football

They were bad in November I won't argue that.

Basketball wasn't played last year. Or at least we didn't play. 2020-21 has been erased from my memory.
It was really good in other parts of the world, like the pac 10. I mean I would think that dumb ass would remember how well the pac 10 played in the tournament last year.

Iowa will be in great shape unless they play a physical team and the officials swallow their whistles. It will be interesting to see how the big 12 does. Traditionally in the tourney games they really allow contact. But it’s hard to imagine games not being called tighter than they have been in Big 12 play.
When that happens the whiny aftershow will be spectacular.
