I think the results get skewed by the number of students who are voting. Views tend to be different after you graduate and have a little coin in your pocket for a change.

Looks like I have some eating to do. I have never done never been to any of those...

It's a fantastic list. I'd throw in some Cafe Shi, Aunt Maude's, and The Spice, and that's the best stuff in Ames. West Cyde Wings is also not on the list.

Okay, I'm going to go ahead and say it because it needs to be said. Hickory Park is way way way OVER-RATED! I'll admit, I find myself there plenty of times and I don't mind the place at all. The food is pretty solid, the prices are very reasonable, and you can get in and out pretty quick. But the way people go on and on about it like it is the greatest thing ever, I just don't get it. I just don't see what is so special about it at all.

Okay, bring on the hate now.

I agree. HP rarely knocks me on my butt.

Pokey sticks from Gumby's anyone?

We moved to Nevada and Pokey Stix are one of the things I miss about Ames - getting them delivered any time of the evening. The crust pieces are best. There also aren't any other pepperoni rolls that are as good as Gumby's - those new Pizza Hut ones are a shameful attempt.

I worked at Gumby's for a couple of months. I more 1 am orders of Pokey sticks for drunk people than I care to remember, but I still crave them. Sometimes the quality can vary, but if made well (like when i made them) they are fantastic.

I quit because the manager was a d-bag and tried to force me to work on Halloween on a Friday. "everyone works on Halloween!" I told him when I interviewed and when I was hired that I would not work Friday or Saturday. (Pre-football parties and post-football parties!) Up until then he was fine with me working every Sunday and weeknights. So I was out of there.

I wonder what proportion of Gumby's income is made after midnight? I would suspect it's pretty high...

I agree. Maybe one of the top five restaurants in South Duff area.

I assume Quik Trip was kept off of the list because it is a chain. However, a Chuckwagon sandwich (or beef, bean and cheese burrito, your choice), Reese and a 44 oz fountain drink...outstanding.

Over 60% at least. I remember sitting on my butt reading the Toons for hours between dinner rush and midnight.

Um, would you like them to also rub your back and wash your car while you eat?
