Top board games

WOOT for Axis and Allies! I have not played the actual board game forever. I havean old version for the PC, it was terrible.

Is there an AA club in the Des Moines area or something where I can play the game?

Fluxx (it is a card game, does that count? or does it need a new thread?)

I know it doesn't count in this thread, but I've played drinking Fluxx, which is basically just constant drinking (for every new rule, and goal card played).

Settlers
Ticket to Ride
Sequence - good for larger groups that are intimidated by more intense games
Cribbage - or is this more of a card game?
Chess

It'd be pretty awesome to set up a big A&A during a tailgate. Except probably not enough time to finish the game. And also would not be conducive to serious drinking. So maybe it's the opposite of a good idea.

On a related note, I spent a ton of money to buy Middle Earth Quest, spent a couple days getting familiar with the rules, and when I went to explain the rules to my wife and son, they looked at me like a tentacle was growing out of my forehead. So I haven't played it, but it seems like it would be cool.

Catan
Monopoly

Clue
Kill Doctor Lucky

It sounds like you are trying to start a CF game night, I might be interested.
