Tonight's Attendance

I'd like to know why the Jack Trice club wasn't full. It's heated for petes sake. After halftime it was like a barren wasteland over there.

we were in trice club and first half was crowded. the fans up there are a different breed. much less enthusiastic than in the regular stadium.

second quarter I go to the bathroom and there is a line. this old fellow started peeing on the floor in front of the urinal. not sure if he couldn't see well or what but when he's done I'm next in line. I stood about three feet back so his pool wouldn't get all over my shoes. his river of urine flowing to the drain is my eternal memory of the trice club.

anyway, pretty sure that's why everyone left!

The wall right in front of the first row lower level was pure ice had to walk up between the seats to move more to the center. I don't think they even cleaned between the seats but our section had a great time everybody stood up wole game, Of course a little something in the hot chocolate helped one for the history books.

I did say to my group how odd of a game it was...the more often the team scored, the more of their fans that left.

We parked in the Scary Acres lot, which was pretty desolate until closer to game time. There was a group of college kids or recent grads that had a piece of plywood, and they were towing it as a sled or snowboard behind a truck. My friend got some good footage of it. Need to figure out where on the interwebs she posted it.

I was on the west side and would say the the east side was about half full. The only thing that made it look bad was the students, but like you, I thought their attendance was decent for it being break. I would guess the west side looked better than half. I estimate around 30,000.

Jack Trice has 43,000K seats. So 30K would be nearly 70% full stands.

Though I said in an earlier post it wasn't bad if you dressed appropriately, it was still freaking cold. When the sun started going down, my beers started freezing up just a couple minutes after opening them. I've never had that happen before

I seriously expected like 3k people. The west side was definitely more full than the East. All in all I think you have to be happy with the crowd. The East upper deck over the students was empty lol though but a tough game for students considering it is break for them.

And for the record..i didnt' think it was all that bad out though. We did forgo the usual tailgating because out of the 15-20 normal group we were left with 3. We just hit a few bars and had a blast. Could have been much worse if that wind had picked up. Seems like the WV game was worse last year.

I had a GREAT time at the game. If you dressed appropriately and used hand and foot warmers it really wasn't bad at all. I would rather be in single digit temps with no wind than 20 degrees and windy. Although you can't put this game in the "magical" category like the OSU win, but I can honestly say that this game was a BLAST!! Everyone in attendance wanted to be there, it was an entertaining game and the team (especially the seniors) gave it their all. Fans, team, coaches and even the band looked like they were just enjoying the moment. Glad I didn't miss it, these young men played hard and earned their stripes in this one.

Everybody was in good spirits. The only thing I really had to complain about was that it felt like I was going to lose my toes.

Same here. I didn't realize how cold my toes were until I started walking up to the concession stand at halftime.

I Wanted To Use The Restrooms At Half, Mainly Just To Warm Up, But Decided It Was Too Much Work Getting Layers Opened Up.

My son had to go to the bathroom. He was having some serious issues with his layers. I had help him with keeping some layers out of the way. It had to look horrible to some one just walking in.

I dialed back his hot chocolate and water intake after that.

My favorite memory was when right before the game this shirtless dude comes running down to the bottom of the stands near my seats, and he turns around does some fist pumping and screaming, takes one step forward and BIFFS IT ON THE ICE. Face plants into the stair. FUNNIEST THING I HAVE EVER. SEEN. Hahahahahah

You can park and go to Jack Trice Stadium without worrying about having to play the knock-out game. I almost want to go tailgate at USC sometime just to get that Beirut experience. Feel the Hate. It must be wonderful.

I've tailgated at USC. The campus is packed and it's actually a pretty amazing experience. The band plays and shoots the bull with fans, a room full of Heisman Trophies (including OJ's.), and a lot of professional spreads. There are companies that will set up your tailgate at USC.

I recommend going if only to experience 100,000 people in a stadium. Amazing energy

Not one of those games you'll look back and go "WOW, what a huge win. I'm glad I was in attendance!" But you are right, for those that showed up I thought it was a blast, the seniors left it all on the field, the parking guys didn't even make me pay, people snuck tons of liquor in and shared it in our section, and people were just out not being PO'd and just dancing to EVERYTHING musically that came on to stay warm.

My only issues in 5 years of tailgating at USC is someone stole my handle of Captain 2 years ago... Their fans are very fair weather so attendance is hit or miss...
