Hey ya'll. I wanted to see where people heading to the Toledo game were sitting at / tailgating at. I am planning on buying tickets and driving up from Kentucky.. would love to be around cardinal and gold!

Go ahead and crucify me if you will.. I'm pretty pessimistic about football and not really diving into things as I should, but..
We're playing at Toledo again? Yuck.
What an armpit (baring some sort of improvement project). Sorry to rain on your parade, but I went to the game back in '07 (??) when we lost under Chizless. Have to admit - that may have soured my view.
But there is no tailgating to speak of. We were stuck in the parking lot of what was a strip mall the university had purchased as an annex. Not a horrid walk, but not really close. Seats don't really matter as it's a tiny, tiny stadium - which actually is pretty cool IMO. Kind of a throwback to the old WPA type projects of the 30's.
The fans were nice enough - until they won. Again, I was pretty sour about it. But you'll find out many fans there are actually tOSU fans who can't get into Columbus. As the stadium was filling up, I thought there was an enormous number of ISU fans there - red everywhere. Til I realized much of it was Buckeye gear. Then after the game, that incessant "OH" "IO" chant. Not sure what that has to do with Toledo, but alas....
If we're going to play these teams, go back to Ohio U. Athens is gorgeous, nice drive in, solid tailgating and nice people. yes - we won.

Based on dates of the games and where we haven't been yet for our annual road trip with my college buddies, we may end up going to the Toledo game too. Ultimately, it is down to either the Tech game or Toledo as we haven't been to either of those places yet. All said and done, we don't really care where we go as we make wherever we are fun. One plus about Toledo is that it is probably about as good of a chance for a win as any of our road games and going to a win is more fun than going to a loss. However, on the flip side, it would suck even worse losing to Toledo than say losing to Oklahoma or something. At least going into Norman, we had zero expectations and that was a good thing. We went the time we lost like fifty something to nothing and didn't even make it across the 50 yard line like the whole game.... yikes.

My wife and I are coming up from DC that day and sitting in section 24 behind the ISU bench. Here is to hoping we are 2-0 going into this game!!
If we go, I'm sure we'll just plan on scalping tickets. I have a hard time believing this isn't one of those games where you just get the cheapest ticket possible to get into the stadium, then sit wherever you want to.
I'll be in section 24 as well. Tickets were pretty easy to come by.
Just planning to drive in from Cleveland for the game and then head back. I don't think there's too much to do in Toledo. Judging from their parking map, the parking is pretty scattered, lots of small lots all over the place, so the tailgating is probably poor.
Edit: The website says parking only opens two hours before game time too, which is also going to discourage a lot of tailgating.
Top of section 24. Got tickets when they went on sale. Wanted the upper deck for better pics but they sell a lot of ridiculously cheap season ticket packages up there

Nice. I'm using some points and staying at the Courtyard thats just to the west and south of there about 7 miles.
What does that say about the Toledo football program that it costs more to stay further away from the stadium?
I went to the game in 2007......my wife and I drove around Toledo for hours and never found the "good" part of town. Others will probably tell me we didn't look in the right places. Never really felt unsafe, but the university and football stadium were in a neighborhood similar to the Drake area.
I agree with others who say you can basically sit anywhere you want. We had a good contingent of ISU fans there since it was the Chiz's first year and we had some hope. Then the last 4 minutes of the game happened.

We might be going. Probability is 60%.
It's around our anniversary, we have a friend who just moved to Toledo, and we would stop at a winery in Michigan on the way. Seemed like a decent weekend away.
As long as they don't narfle the garthog against UNI, we will go.
