TOE showing respect.

They should be happy we threw them a preseason bone early in the year the last two seasons.

They're lucky we didn't have a warm up game at the beginning of the season or we would have been crisper on offense for sure.

It’s nice that so many Hawks acknowledged the Clones. But one theme is always clear in that thread and others like it, and that is how much Hawkeye football is built on a weak schedue. As soon as ISU and Purdue build a good program they like to opine about the coach leaving, with the hopes of weakening the schedule. One guy in that thread wants to see Heacock leave. They also like to talk about Brohm leaving Purdue.

If they could play Ohio State and Michigan once every 10 years and still be in the Big 10 their fans would be be elated. I guess that’s why they call it the Big 10....they play one big conference game every 10 years.

Hell they were talking about having at least a 10 win schedule THIS year. Look how that worked out for them.

Come the end of the year toe will have beaten only two teams with an overall record above .500. Those two teams are ISU and Northern Illinois, who they played in week 1 and 2. Both of those teams have only improved as the season has gone on, while toe has regressed. Toe would not beat ISU, or Northern Ill. if they played them now.

I dont think they lose to NIU. Iowa still has a quality team and if a bounce or two goes the other way in one or two of those games their team and fanbase have a different perspective on the year. We've heard it before but things are never as good or bad as they seem and the same is true for both ISU and Iowa. anyhow, it sure is a fun time to be a cyclone so enjoy it!

This post I found over there says a lot about the evolution of the fan base for the TOE. I see it more and more.....We as ISU fans are all used to wearing our nut cups and still keep them handy just in case.......humility goes a long way in the evolution of a fan base like ISU has. WE need to keep humble.... but if you don't..............this post from TOE.

"I wouldn't say laughingstock, but Iowa has gone about it in multiple ways, including in no small part thanks to our wonderful fanbase to get people who would normally otherwise not care about Iowa.....to root against Iowa any given Saturday, especially when we play teams like Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, etc and even Iowa State.

Alabama fans cared enough to root for Iowa State against Iowa this year. I watched them do it. I could name dozens of fanbases that just don't prefer us being successful.

We can't really say "they hate us cuz they ain't us" like the wrestling fans do, either, because we're not even in the same universe as the wrestling program.

Whether its Kirk or Iowa rubbing people the wrong way, or outsiders just wanting an underdog playing Iowa to win or because they need them to win....or because our fans ran their mouthes for no reason, Iowa has attracted a lot of people that are just fine with seeing us wallow in 7 win purgatory with bad losses each and every year.

Very few people outside the Iowa fanbase have any sympathy for us anymore, and it was not always that way.

And if any of you are fine with this then that's another indicator that there is a big problem.

Iowa and our fanbase has reached the "lived long enough to see ourselves become the villain" stage.

And that wasn't how it was suppose to be."

Glad to see at least one of them get it.

They can take their respect and shove it right up their ****ing asses for all I care. We don't need their validation.

Anyone else notice hock fans only compliment us during seasons when they beat us?

When we win all the "i root for ISU when not playing Iowa" BS comes to a screeching halt.

So for that reason I say F the hocks.

The 'the ISU football game is a lose lose for Iowa' talk sure seems to have quieted down.
