Tip Top?

I heard a rumor that Tip Top has been bought out to make room for something else. Surely they wouldn't do this to me right before the start of the season! Has anyone else heard this or is it false?

I hope not, a couple of buddies and I slept on the roof before a mid 90's Cockeye game one year. When one of the staff saw us, he says "You idiots get the F off the damn roof!" my buddy says "But the Fing Hawks are coming!" The guy let us stay up there and we had chili and beers for breakfast, like every Cyclone should on game day.

Use to work overnights at Butch's Amoco...go to Tip Top for a beer in the morning...followed up by class all day. Good times.

Yes, Tip Top has been destroyed and rebuilt several times in the past year. No one noticed.

We drank them out of beer before a few home football games in the 1980's. Woke up hungover, cleaned the fraternity house, then went for breakfast (beer and chili). God that was fun and lots of foggy memories!!!

My dad would tell me stories about going to the Tip Top.

Spent mucho time at the Tip Top during my days in Ames. Great bar, great experience. Sorry if tales of its demise is true.

Try the Sportsman. Tip Top less the chili. Sorta.

Have one bad memory of an over zealous bouncer there, but other then that has been a great place to have a drink and remember what bars were like in the 70's. Always thought the chili was pretty good.

Had a good time there last year after the Oky State game.
